Host thoughts about all technicalities: Spoiler:Okay.
This was supposed to be 21p, with 14/3/3/1.
The main problem was the timing of the game's availability. There were two other ongoing games, which means we'll likely get less players. The game was balanced, with respect to 21p. Role distribution will ensure that some will complement or disrupt each other. Reducing the game to 16p weakens the synergies and possibly eliminates counters, so the game wasn't guaranteed to be balanced in the smaller setup. The roles were individually balanced, so we banked on that to keep the game holding.
The gambling mechanic was fun to host (and play with, specifically for Magic Dice Game and Gates of Hell). Only caveat was that Jezz and I are on the other side of the world. Both of us had to stay up late most of the time (dota2reporter and ElusiveBelle were both meant to work behind the scenes, so they're not focused on the frontlines), but I think we sufficiently allowed most of the players to play at least a single gambling event (ignoring the very first one). The main difficulties were gamble lengths and the ease of playing. I was thinking that the games would only last for around 10 minutes or so, but then the second Lightning Gamble took a good hour. Fuck guessing games, anyway.
The main turning points of the game basically happened all on Cycle #3. Gates of Hell had the ignite to get rid of a maximum of 3 players. The roulette game for the said phase had the readmission, which was basically how kosmo16 came back. The phantom votes of the dead also occurred within the same cycle. They're displeased about the lack of reception for their signal. They basically figured out ChubbyMooshroom9 was scum because they killed and challenged SparkingJayYT. They linked heytheregirl17 with ChubbyMooshroom9 because of their day dynamics, with the connection being solidified at Game 2 in Gates of Hell. A minor mod error was made on Eragon1329's second Keno gamble, which made me hand out Scumcoins to both heytheregirl17 and ChubbyMooshroom9 instead of just ChubbyMooshroom9. It didn't matter that much in the long run, but I refunded heytheregirl17 their lost Influence Points.
There were overlooks in a few design elements (notably Sumika Warakubami being misspelled as Wakarubami, Nozomi Komabami, and Nozomi's card still showing the legs), but I'm glad they didn't hamper game reception that much. The card and flavor name images were made during sign-ups, which made it prone to overlooks.
The Discord channel was hard as fuck to navigate, even with necessary organizations made. There's 3 host channels, 8 lightning gamble channels, 11 gates of hell channels, 5 losers' club channels, 2 channels for each scum team, and 16 channels for each player. 47 channels in total.
The spreadsheet was less confusing that SFM58 (SG2E:FM), so I think that's a plus.
...
Other than that, the game was fun to host and keep up with. Sucks to see that Town only won 2 gambles (not counting the individual gambles in Gates of Hell).
Town: Spoiler:TBA
Scum: Spoiler:TBA
