Rules:
  • This is not an official episode. I also don't know why you have to be told this.
  • We're all friends here. Don't say anything you wouldn't say to your mother.
  • You signed up for the game, so play the game. If you vanish for 48 hours, that's a paddlin'. If you don't show up 24 hours after that, or get paddled again, that's a boot. Shitposts don't count.
  • Don't throw the game. Even if your scum buddy gladiates you in their first post, don't get salty and out them. That's how they get away with having the moral high ground.
  • Don't talk to people in secret languages only the two of you know. That's rubbish, and you know it.
  • Don't quote, or pretend to quote mod messages. Don't even talk about talking with the mod. Don't even talk about rules disallowing talking about talking with the mod. You will die a horrible death.
  • Don't talk to other people about the game. Unless they fake claim sheriff with red on you, in which case feel free to pretend you're scum in PMs with them. yeah don’t actually do this
  • Fun isn't banned, but I'll be genuinely impressed if you manage to have fun somehow.

Setup:
  • All slots will be a random role.
  • Town may not exceed 67% of the players.
  • Mafia (excluding traitors) may not exceed 30% of the players.
  • Neutral Killing roles may not exceed 15% of the players.
  • Alignments will have weighted randomization to further ensure a semblance of balance.
  • If a player needs to be replaced, and a replacement can't be found after a full day phase, the slot will be modkilled.

    When you die, the last player you targeted will have their role revealed to the town.

    Each night, you may protect a player other than yourself.
    If they are attacked, you will protect them from that attack.

    Night immunity will not save the attacker from being killed in this way.
    You have one bulletproof vest you may use to protect yourself from attacks.

    Crusader

    You are a Crusader.

    Each night, you may protect a player other than yourself.
    If they are visited by any other players, you will kill a random player from among them.

    Night immunity will not protect them from dying in this way.

    Bodydouble

    You are a Bodydouble.

    Each night, you may protect a player other than yourself.
    If they would die by any normal method, you will die in their stead.

    You are a Healer.

    Each day, you may heal a poisoned player, preventing their death.

    Botanist

    You are a Botanist.

    During the night you may choose to target up to 2 people. You will put a plant at each of their houses.
    If a player with a plant would be attacked, they will survive, however, their plant will wilt and die.
    Due to the nature of this new breed, any other plants not in your possession will also wilt and die.
    The protection will not kick in until next night.
    You cannot target yourself.
    However, those you have with you will remain healthy.
    You have 8 plants in total.

    Babysitter

    You are a Babysitter.

    Each night, you may protect a player.
    If they would die by any normal means, you save them from death.
    If you die, your target will be dealt a normal attack as well.

    Vigilante

    You are a Vigilante.

    Each night you may decide to shoot and kill one town member you believe to be evil.

    3 times per game as a night action, you may go on alert.
    You will kill all players that visit you while you are on alert.
    This can also kill people who are normally night immune.
    You are immune to attacks, douses, stalking, and any other harmful night actions while on alert.

    Firebrand

    You are a Firebrand.

    Each night you may douse a player in gasoline.
    You may also ignite all of your doused targets, however you may only ignite once so choice your actions wisely.
    Your method of killing ignores night immunity and appears identical to the Arsonist's methods.
    The Arsonist cannot ignite your targets, nor can you ignite theirs.

    You win with the Town

    Gunsmith

    You are a Gunsmith.

    Each night, you may give a player other than yourself a gun.
    That player can use the gun during the next day to publicly attack another player.
    You can only give out a gun 3 times, and you can't give the same player more than one gun.

    Poisoner

    You are a Poisoner.

    Each night, you may poison a player.
    At the start of the day, it will be announced to the town that they are poisoned.
    If they aren't healed by a healer, they will die at the end of the day.
    You may choose to use a fake poison in place of normal poison, causing the kill to not occur at day end.

    Medium

    You are a Medium.

    During the night, you can freely communicate with dead players, and any other mediums there might be.

    You are a Jack of All Trades.

    Each night, you may use one of the actions below targeting a player other than yourself.

    3: Heal your target, preventing them from dying by any normal means.

    Each night, you may give a player a fruit. They will be notified of this. This has no other effect.

    Mayor

    You are a Mayor.

    Once per game, you may reveal yourself to the town by posting "I am the Mayor!" in the game thread in bolded text.
    When you reveal, your role will be announced to the town, and your vote will count for 3 for the rest of the game.
    After you have revealed, you can't be the target of protective actions.

    Retributionist

    You are a Retributionist.

    Once per game as a night action, you may bring a dead town player back to life.
    You may not target cleaned players with this action.

    Jailor

    You are a Jailor.

    Every night you may jail and potentially execute somebody.
    To Jail somebody, you must message your Moderator during the day telling them who you would like to Jail.
    If you do not do this before the day is over - you jail no one.
    The prisoner will be allowed a 1000 character limit to share a defense with you.
    (NOTE: Jailed Mafia will lose the ability to communicate with other Mafia, and they will be unable to see the Mafia Chat.)
    If you jail somebody they will be roleblocked and cannot use their night ability, even if they are normally roleblock immune.
    However, all night actions fail against your target, unless they are someone with an Investigative night ability.
    If you execute somebody, they will be roleblocked and killed. An execution will kill anybody, even roles immune to other forms of night killing.
    If you execute a Town member, you can not execute anybody else for the remainder of the game. You will still be able to jail people though.
    You can execute up to 3 times.
    You can't execute on the first night.

    Innocent Child

    You are an Innocent Child.

    Once per game, during the day, you may have your role publicly revealed to the town.

    If a member of the Mafia dies, you may permanently assume that role if you wish at any time.

    Ninja

    You are a Ninja.

    When you perform the factional kill, you can choose to make it unseen.

    Vigilante

    You are a Vigilante.

    Each night, you may attack a player.

    Every day, you may choose to jail somebody.
    To Jail somebody, you must message your Moderator during the day telling them who you would like to Jail. If you do not do this before the day is over - you jail no one.
    The prisoner is removed from any night chats they might be and are roleblocked. However, they may send a 1000 character defense to you.
    While imprisoned, only Protective and Investigative abilities may be used against your target.
    If you choose to execute your prisoner as the Mafia's night kill, they are roleblocked and killed. This does not ignore night immunity.

    Hustler

    You are a Hustler.

    Each night you may visit a player, repeating all actions that happened to them last night again.
    If you repeat an investigative action, instead you will get the results.

    Traitor Vigilante

    You are a Traitor Vigilante.

    You do not know the identity of the other mafia members, nor do they know your identity.
    Each night, you can shoot a player.

    Survivor

    You are a Survivor.

    Each night, you can choose to put on a bulletproof vest, making you immune to attacks.
    You have 4 vests to use.

    You win by being alive at the end of the game.


    Amnesiac

    You are an Amnesiac.

    At night, you can choose to remember the role of any non-unique player that has died.

    You can't win the game as this role.


    Phantom

    You are a Phantom.

    During the day or night, you can choose to perform a ritual.
    If you die during the phase you perform a ritual, you will appear as Cleaned, and must choose to serve someone the following night for the rest of the game.
    You may only perform this ritual 5 times. You cannot serve people who vote to lynch you.
    You may also choose to automatically serve your killer.
    After you have chosen to serve a master, you may freely communicate with them during the night phase.
    Each night, you can choose to haunt someone's house, revealing everyone who visits that person to you and your master.
    You cannot haunt your master's house.
    If you run out of rituals, you will die without obtaining a master.

    You win the game if your master wins the game.
    If they lose, or you do not obtain a master, you lose.


    Shade

    You are a Shade.

    During the day or night, you can choose to perform a ritual.
    If you die during the phase you perform a ritual, you will appear as Cleaned.
    Each day thereafter, you must choose a master to serve for the following night.
    You may only perform this ritual 5 times.
    After you have chosen to serve a master, you may freely communicate with them during the night phase.
    Each night, you can choose to haunt someone's house, revealing who that player visits to you and your master.
    You cannot haunt your master's house.
    If you run out of rituals, you will die in loss.

    You win the game if the player that killed you loses the game. (In the case you're lynched, the last player to vote you counts as your killer)
    If they win, you run out of rituals without being killed, or are killed while not performing a ritual, you lose the game.


    Outcast

    You are an Outcast.

    Each night you can prevent a player from using their action.
    You are immune to being roleblocked.

    If the number of town players remaining is less than or equal to half the player alive, your win condition will become the town win condition.
    If the number of mafia members remaining is ever 1, you will become a member of the mafia, gaining their win condition, joining their chat, and becoming capable of performing the factional kill.
    If you are visited by a Neutral Killing role, your win condition will become the same as theirs, and you will die if they die.

    You win by surviving to the end of the game.


    Double

    You are a Double.

    Once per game as a night action, you can attack a player.
    This attack will ignore standard immunity.
    If that player dies that night, they will be cleaned, and you will gain their role, including their win condition.
    You will maintain the exact status of their role, including charges remaining, douses, and stalks.
    If you use your shot without your target dying, you will die and lose the game.

    You cannot win the game as a Double.


    Guardian Angel

    You are a Guardian Angel.

    You are watching over {Player Name}
    Twice per game as a night action, you can protect your target.
    This will prevent them from dying by any method that night, with the exception of a jester haunting.
    If they have been doused, stalked or poisoned, they will no longer have that condition.
    In addition, at the start of the next day, they will become immune to lynch.
    The town will be informed that they were protected by a guardian angel when this happens.
    You can use this action even in death.

    If your target dies before you do, you will become a survivor with 0 vests remaining.


    You win the game if the player you are watching over survives.

    (Note: Player being watched can't be a neutral role that may need to die to win)

    Witch

    You are a Witch.

    Each night, you may choose a player to redirect them to another player of your choice.
    You are immune to being redirected or roleblocked.
    The first time a Killing or Killing Intent action is used on you, it will fail.

    You win the game if the town loses.


    Jester

    You are a Jester.

    If you are lynched, you can choose a player that was voting for you to haunt during the next night.
    They will die at the end of that night.
    Nothing can prevent them from dying in this method.

    You win the game if you are lynched.


    Executioner

    You are an Executioner.

    Your target is {Player Name}
    You are immune to attacks.
    If your target dies while you are alive, you will become a Jester.

    You win the game if your target is lynched.

    (Note: Target will be a member of the town, and can't be certain town roles that can confirm themselves)

    Warlock

    You are a Warlock.

    Each phase you may hex a player of your choice. If that hexed player dies in the next two phases you will be completely immune the phase during and after their death. This includes methods that would normally kill regular night immune players, douses and stalks.
    You will learn the identity and role of anyone attempting to attack you.
    If you are to be lynched while immune the day will lose 24 hours instead of you being lynched.
    You may not hex yourself.

    You win the game if the town loses.


    Kleptomaniac

    You are a Kleptomaniac.

    Each night, you can choose a dead player to steal from.
    You will be passively informed of how many charges each dead player has at the beginning of each night.
    You may use their ability as if you were that role for that night and gain any of their special attributes (IE night/roleblock immunity).
    For each dead person you may only steal from them once.
    You can't copy any actions that kill, or have killing intent.

    You win the game if the town loses.


    Mirrorer

    You are a Mirrorer.

    Each night, you may choose an action that is performed by a role present in the roles in play list. You may also choose a target, or two targets for actions that require it.
    If the role that you choose is present in the game and that role acts that night, you will use that action on your second target.
    You may also choose to get temporary Night Immunity rather than perform an action (Survivor vest style)
    You do not have limited uses of each role.
    You may not mirror Neutral Killings or actions that would change your role.
    Your action resolves right after your target's action does, any roles that would normally act before or after your action will act the same but your target takes higher priority than your action.

    You win the game if the town loses.


    Pirate

    You are a Pirate.

    Each day, you can choose a player to Plunder.
    That night, you will play a glorified game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors" against them.
    If you win, you will kill them.
    Either way, you prevent them from using their action that night.

    You win the game if you beat 2 people at the glorified game of "Rock, Paper, Scissors".


    Plaguebearer

    You are a Plaguebearer.

    You are infected.
    Each night, you can visit a player.
    When anyone visits an infected player, they become infected.
    When an infected player visits another player, the player they visit becomes infected.
    At the end of each night, you will be told which players still need to be infected.
    Once every player is infected, you will become Pestilence.

    You can't win the game as this role.


    Pestilence

    You are Pestilence.

    Each night, you can rampage at a player's house.
    You will kill that player, all players visiting them, and all players visiting you.
    These attacks ignore immunity.
    You are completely immune to all types of attacks, and can only be killed by being lynched.

    You win the game if there are no other players alive.


    Safeguard

    You are a Safeguard.

    Each night, you may choose a player other than yourself to protect.
    All actions excluding your own, killing actions, or actions with killing intent will fail.

    You win the game if the town loses.


    Serial Killer

    You are a Serial Killer.

    Every night you may kill one person.
    You are immune to attacks.
    If someone tries to roleblock you, you will attack them instead of your chosen target.

    You win with Neutral Killings
    You must kill the Town
    You must kill the Mafia


    Arsonist

    You are an Arsonist.

    Each night you may douse one player or ignite all of your doused targets.
    If you are doused by another Arsonist, you may wait a night to clean the gasoline off of yourself.
    Your method of killing ignores night immunity.
    You are immune to attacks.

    You win with Neutral Killings
    You must kill the Town
    You must kill the Mafia


    Stalker

    You are a Stalker.

    Each phase, you may stalk one person.
    Each of your stalked targets will commit suicide four phases after you begin stalking them.
    Your targets will not know they are being stalked, until they commit suicide.
    You may stalk a new target each phase, and your past targets will all commit suicide over the paranoia that you have caused them.
    Your method of killing ignores immunity, and any Town Protectives trying to stop this attack will fail to do so.
    You are immune to attacks and other Stalkers.
    If someone tries to roleblock you, you will stalk your roleblocker in addition your original target.
    Once you begin stalking a target, nothing can save them unless you die before the night they decide to commit suicide.

    You win with Neutral Killings

    Detonator

    You are a Detonator.

    Each night you may place a device on a player.
    If a player with a device visits another player with a device, all devices will explode and kill the player holding them. This ignores immunity.

    Juggernaut

First.
Although I am against it(NFM 63) I will still use math as an indicator.
Basic math, 23 * 0.3(30% of the player list) equals 6.9 which means at most there will be 6 or 7(if it is rounded) mafia members.
23 * 0.15(15% of the player list) equals 3.45 which means at most we will have at most 3 neutral killing roles.
If we take the worst case(7 mafia member and 3 killing roles) then we have potentially 13 town members(and could be waaaay worse because of NEs and NBs).
I am going with a half to quarter try hard mode(XX2 style), I expected this game to be your casual game and not a chaotic one; whatever.
Also I hate any game which contains more than 21 players and I am expecting a low activity(or a high one with sh*t tons of shitposts) due to the playerlist.

A quick note about WW theory and how I will play this game. Note that the arguments and facts presented here are indisputable, and that I will not engage in arguments about them, because those arguments are you wasting everyone else's time about meta that is well and comprehensively established. Go make reads so we can read you.

I've reflected on my role and realized that there is a GTO play for me in this game, and therefore I am compelled to pursue it. I am going to brute force my clearness immediately upon the opening of the thread.

I am hard-claiming, I am the lost wolf vig.

Benefits:

1. I will survive tonight: I do not believe the townies are able to kill me today, because it is so objectively unlikely that I would ever do this as the lost wolf vig. I believe that this decision reduces the importance of the openwolfing to be provided by all of you to the point of it being negligible. The townies have already been outplayed, as it were.

2. I'm lock scum: All of you already know I'm lock scum, because it is so objectively unlikely that I would do this as a town. You know this for at least two reasons. First, this is the easiest, lowest-stress, lowest-demand game to play in that I've ever played in (except for turbos). I have no need to complicate my life, as a townie, by open-claiming on thread open, when all Ihave to do is provide like a C-level game to probably win. This is the rare instance where you literally know that I have a billion other options as a town, AND that I would pursue probably ALL of them before pursuing this. Second, I engage in FPS exceedingly commonly, which necessarily means that I *know* that this will not look WEIRD and SHOCKING to you. There is no merit to a town play that does not instantly generates WEIRD and SHOCKED responses that I would be obligated to finesse and manage for the remainder of the game. As a wolf, which I am, the burden is totally on you to not $#@! up and nightkill me. Makes my life super awesome.

3. There are only 12 players you need to try to read, rather than 13: I have already provided a "free" check of me in a game with a mere 13 players. Our win equity is dramatically improved by my being entirely off the table for the entire game.

Conclusion:

The burden of sound reasoning is now entirely upon you. I am the lost wolf vig, and thus a wolf, and thus lock scum. The game is immediately simpler than it would otherwise have been, because of my decision. Now, let us enjoy that benefit and win the game.

Also, to preempt a lengthy and pointless discussion.

It is NOT dumb to ponder this post and convince yourself of its wisdom. That is your obligation as a wolf, and I encourage you to think it over for as long as it takes to quell your (initially valid but ultimately unnecessary) concerns.

It IS dumb to, AFTER doing that pondering, conclude that I'm "neutral" or "towny." That is legitimately stupid, and I won't entertain it. ONE of the reasons it is a stupid conclusion is that the upside of this play as a townie is absolutely DWARFED by the upside of this play as a wolf. There is no equivalency between the EV gain for wolf-me in this position and villager-me in this position. They're universes apart. That means I wouldn't DO the poorer option of the two (by extension, villager-me also wouldn't BELIEVE that I could convince the entire game of the truth of these assertions for the entire game, which as an end-game villager I would have to believe if this strategem were to be worth pursuing). A SECOND reason that conclusion is stupid is that the EV bonus of doing this as a villager is COMPLETELY DWARFED by me baseline villager EV anyway. Anything that complicates my life is RIDICULOUSLY stupid for me to do, given that my townie life is ALREADY one of the roughest, lowest expectation townie lives in WW history anyway. A THIRD reason that conclusion is stupid is that you would probably have to worry about being EXPLOITED by this gambit in order to get there. However, I have NEVER engaged in this, or any similar, gambit in my entire career, meaning that if there IS exploitation to be had with this play, it is in FUTURE GAMES, not this game. For these reasons, pressuring me is extremely townie and should not be engaged in by any wolf, ever, in this game. There will be no less productive pursuit than that in this game.

Sucks for the town when meta is wielded this brutally, but my allegiance is plain and my strategy perfect. Get #rekt.

Recently I started playing FM, and for the five games I have played, I have been exe, witch, exe, disguiser and exe. Can it be a little more random please?
