How does Ranks on forums work???

I'm asking this because I'm an Amnesiac and I don't know why... (ha...hahaha) So I want to remember that I'm something else, but I don't know the ranks and how they work. Can someone help me understand them so I can make an educated decision on who I should choose?

theres special ones too, has shown from this post. they often involve winning things or being apart of the staff team. I got mine from the St Patrick's Day Contest.

tbh I think you look better without blue
