Also what is the leader thing. Do you want to be with good leaders? Are there debuffs if there's scum in your squad?

Resources are most likely boosts to any abilities you have whilst courage is most likely a boost to your ability to rally and the benefits for everyone involved by doing so. Its an example rolecard however. Leaders are basically who you rally under if you choose to when they call on you to rally and its your decision on whether to rally with a leader or not. We don't know if anything happens if scum get involved in a squad.

I think milte being characteristically a lurker will be difficult to play around and his behavior will be a difficult meta-read because he's still stuck in last game.

Certain roles have an explicitly stated "talent for leadership". Rallying under such players provides benefits to the players rallied. Higher talent for leadership provides better benefits.

I honestly think you're probably going a bit deep into this. It seems obvious that roles which rally behind other roles may receive benefits or other effects to some extent.
