Kennelmaster (Town Killing)

Kennelmaster


Alignment -
Town Killing


Abilities -
Release your dogs to two targets at night


Attributes -
The visitor will still perform their action but the dogs will kill them
Only one dog will kill their target following the priority list in Additional Information
The dogs' kill pierces NI
You can only send your dogs out 3 times


Goal -
Lynch every criminal and evildoer


Additional Information -
When two roles visit both of the two dogs, only one of them will kill based on who has the highest priority role visit
The list of priority is as follows (alike the Marshal's):

Killing roles + NCs > NEs + MSs > MDs > NBs + Town

Example: A Werewolf and Disguiser visit one dog and a Doctor and Blackmailor visit the other.
The kill will then target who is the highest priority for each house (Blackmailor + Werewolf) and the dog that gets the highest priority out of all of them (Disguiser + Werewolf)

From all of them, the Werewolf is overall the highest priority and will get killed

Also, if multiple roles fit into the same priority group (the Serial Killer also visits in the example above) both of them will die (therefore the Werewolf and Serial Killer will be killed)


Investigator Results -
Sheriff: Your target is not suspicious
Investigator: Your target terrifies its visitors. They could be the Kennelmaster, Blackmailor or Tax Collector
Interviewer: Group H
Consigliere: Your target is covered in thick slobber and brown hairs. They must be the Kennelmaster


Messages -
To the Kennelmaster:
"You have decided to send your dogs to hunt ____ tonight"

To the visitor:
"You were ravaged by a group of rabid dogs. You have died"

To the target if the dogs kill their visitor:
"You heard barking and whines from behind your front door. Your visitor was killed"

Achievements -

Mauled to Death: Have your dogs kill a visitor TP5
Monster vs Monster: Have your dogs kill a Werewolf TP10
They Must've Been Hungry: Have your dogs kill 3 visitors in one night TP10
Should Have Worked Together: Have your dogs kill the Godfather and Serial Killer in the same night TP25
Guard Dogs: Have your dogs kill one of your visitors TP25

Because it doesn't directly know what it is going to kill, Vigilante targets the actual killing role, Kennelmaster targets the people who visit a role

How about the target?

The dog doesn't interfere with any of the visiting roles abilities therefore the Werewolf will be roleblocked and healed and the Mayor will be jailed and attacked, it is not a protective at all

Also, when it kills a role, that role will still use its ability so in my example in the quote the Werewolf will still kill its target when it is killed by the Kennelmaster

Not really. It's a Veteran which compares which people visit and targets usually only one but also covers two houses so it ends up killing (usually) the most dangerous role/s

So.. it's as balanced as Veteran I'd say

Don't compare it to Crusader, it's a RNG Bodyguard that has no sacrifice, probably the worst role in ToS. This fixes it by not acting as a protective role, not using RNG to cut down kills and spreading the kills out

Well, it's ability to find and kill predominantly evil roles is balanced by the fact that it has to guess where they visit instead of visiting them directly. I may lower it and make it so you can only visit one target though

i think a problem here is that it's not explained outright the kill target.

people seem to be confused into thinking that the target you send a dog to could be attacked, but what you've been saying suggests visitors of the target are attacked.

i assume the latter, but clearing this up (and maybe putting it in the rolecard, too) would be helpful.

to that end, say a dog is sent to a medium who is visited by the SK. while the SK is killed by the dog, does the SK still kill the medium?

its a 2 time crusader who kills in priority of alignments and doesnt save the person who visited if attacked with 3 uses

that's the basics of this role i believe

The Medium dies to the SK yes, the Kennelmaster gives no protection and shouldn't because it's TK

2) It doesn't save its target because it's TK not a TPr
