Psychic (Town Power)

You are a witch who forms mental links between people

Abilities: Form a mental link between two players every day

Attributes:
-They will be able to anonymously speak with each other that night
-You get one self link
-Roles with a night chat can hear and speak to both the person that they are linked to and whoever they speak to at night

It may be able to link people after it dies, but this is not currently added.


Special Attributes:
-Unique role

Goal: Lynch every criminal and evildoer

Wins with: Town, Survivor

Investigative Results:
Sheriff- Your target is not suspicious.
Investigator- Your target leads the Town. They must be a or Mayor, Jailor, or Psychic.
Consigliere: Your target forms mental links. They must be a Psychic.

Achievements:
Magic: 1 win as a Psychic (5TP)
Witchcraft: 5 wins as a Psychic (5TP)
Wizardry: 10 wins as a Psychic (10TP)
Telepathy: 25 wins as a Psychic (25TP)
Constant Communication: Form a mental link between the same two people 3 nights in a row (10TP)
LinkedIn: Link one person with 5 different people (10TP)

Text:
You have chosen to form a mental link between _____ and _____.
A Psychic formed a mental like between you and someone else.

Backstories:
Since she was a little kid, the Medium's younger sister, the Psychic, excelled in magic. She was able to make people telepathically talk to each other better than even the Medium. She had only one fear- death. Unlike her older sister, the Psychic did not want anything to do with death. She never talked to the dead, refused to look at the dead bodies all around her, and did not even visit the graveyard. As crime in her home town, Salem, was on the rise, she rarely even went outside, as someone died almost every night. Now, the Psychic uses the magic that she learned as a child- telepathy.

The Psychic goes home holding her mothers hand due to fear. The mafia left a note at there door promising her mother death due to her finding and lynching the godfather. Her mother told her to go to her room, and hide for the rest of the night. Later that night, the Physic woke up due to the sound of a gun shot, and she dashed to the other room to find her mother fatally wounded. She wanted to go get the town doctor, but she knew it would be too late. She closed her eyes, and started praying for the doctor to come, and to her surprise, she heard the doctor talking to the local sheriff, and she told him that her mother was in critical condition and begged him to come. The doctor rushed to the house, and saved the mother, and from that day on, she swore she would only use her new found power to help the town. (By Cmitc1)

The mediums daughter watches her mother pull out a crystal ball, and start talking to what seemed to be nothing. She thought nothing of it, because it was normal for her to do that every night, but she started to hear a fearful tone in her mothers voice. The dead investigator claimed that he found weapons in John Proctors house, and said he was the mafioso. The medium knew that the vigilante has been debating about shooting him all week, and she knew he needed this information,. The Psychic started to wish with all her heart that her mother could communicate with the vigilante. To her surprise, she heard the mother say the vigilantes name, and tell him that John Proctor is the mafioso. She gave her mother a shocked look,and her mother looked back at her and asked, was that you? (By Cmitc1)

An interesting power, and a well balanced one. There is no way of knowing if there is an evil, and it's just a private communication.

Magical! I like the way this is balanced, though I have some questions.

1. Will the link be prioritized if you chose a player that is involved in a chat? (Mafia/Vampire)
2. If the link will be prioritized, will the communications to the original chat ability be "muted" for a night? (Mafia/Vampire)
3. Will the Medium cut off its communication to the dead when linked to anyone? (Medium)
4. Will the received chat information be cut off if the player is linked to anyone? (Vampire Hunter/Spy)

Other than that...

1. It will be like the medium's seance- if a jailed person/mafia/vampire is likned, they will be able to hear and speak to both the jailor/mafia/vampires and the person that they are linked to

I changed the investigator's result to Spy/Blackmailer/Psychic. Does anyone have any ideas for a backstory that would make this result make sense? Also, is this result better?

This would mess up the other investigative results. The Mayor/Godfather one would be improved, and Sheriff/Executioner would also be fine, but I do not think that Survivor/Werewolf is good. I think that I will do a poll to see which one I should do.

Since most people have voted for Witch/Psychic, that is what its investigative results will be. Of course, this will mess up the Survivor/Witch/Werewolf result, but I do not think it would be that bad.

How is this Lover? It just allows communication. It's a very interesting role, which isn't too powerful, nor too weak.

This is not even close to a Lover role. Also, it is meant to make two people able to easily share their findings without having to whisper, because whispering makes you suspicious. If you pair up a townie with an evildoer, it could cause huge problems. It is meant to make or break the town, but not as much as Transporter. Also, when the Blackmailer will be able to read whispers, this role will become more powerful, but it would still not be OP.

I do not know how I can make better investigation results without ruining the current balance. Maybe I should put it in working with dead bodies?

Hmm. Not bad, if not easily confirmable. In fact, that's the role's only real problem as far as I can see.

You can't really, at least not without drastically changing other game mechanics.
