Medium X Witch - Mystical

I think someone got all of them added, except for Justice, which already existed on Vig/Sheriff. I like mystical and loyalty though.

Just checked out the shipping chart, its looking good!

I have some suggestions as well:

Arsonist/Werewolf – Wildfire (Werewolf is a wild animal, I think we understand the first part)
Mayor/Consort OR Mayor/Escort – Scandal
Godfather/Witch OR Mayor/Witch – Overpower
Veteran/Lookout – Sleepless (Vet’s too paranoid to sleep and lookout has to stay up to watch others)
Godfather/Godfather – Dictator?
Consigliere/Witch - Spell (Nobody can spell Consigliere correctly, and witch casts spells)

Also, I love some of the names, especially consig/consig’s (Dictionary shipping, absolutely beautiful)
Not too sure if some of these names have been used already, but I'm just throwing them out there.

It's chill. Like any fandom, there will be multiple names for ships. The point of the spreadsheet isn't to dictate what should be called what, but to provide a list of names that people can pick from. The exception would probably be repeating names for different ships because it might get confusing, but I think I'll put it in anyway.

By the way, I'm taking NaNoWriMo next month and it'll probably be based upon ToS. Not sure if there will be any romance, but if there is, it'll be ret/med. Still working out the plot, hopefully I can get it laid out before October ends.

HYPE
if its deep and emotional u've won me over. hhhh + yeah but i don't use ship names a lot since i tend to forget them, so i use x role/y role like the archive of our own format. i might start using them however with the shipping chart! (shipping chart? shipping chart!)

Hopefully, yes. My writing style is very sharp and a bit rough, to say the least - if it were anything like yours or Mouse's or Abi's it would fit much better. Mine's more suited for humour, which is a genre I can't write. Because I'm not funny. Lol.

I'm trying to figure out a setting right now. At the moment, the environment isn't creating enough conflict - or rather, it is, but the conflict it generates is a sensitive topic I would rather avoid. I was thinking an apocalypse would be very interesting, but I'm uncertain on whether to make it a zombie apocalypse or a natural disaster or what. Maybe I can just leave it ambiguous and throw the characters in. If anyone has ideas lmk.

What's your AO3 account? Is it the same name as this one?

Ooh la la, you have some interesting stories I'm going to put on my bucketlist. Thanks.

And, yeah, probably will. Ambiguity is the easiest to write, after all. I also like apocalypse AUs so that sounds right up my alley. Hopefully things won't be too busy next month.

For you Apocalyptic Town of Salem AU My idea for the story that their is a small town that has people breaking the town's many strict laws for their own survival. The town it's self was built only a week to a month ago and the building of the town could work as a prologue that introduces all 15 characters. Due to the tracery killings, the townies can't escape until all evildoers are killed.

For the Town of Salem Shipping Chart Name Ideas:

Bodyguard X Retributionist - Guardian Angel
Witch X Doctor - Witchdoctor
Serial Killer X Doctor - Knives or Scalpels
Favorite Roles: Jailor, Janitor
Least Favorite Roles: Veteran, Vigilante, Executioner, Jester

Okay, I'll add the new ship names right after I make this post, but I wanted to ask if anyone was interested in being a beta reader* for the story I'm working on. I decided to format it like the protagonist (the retributionist) is writing in a journal to their friend (the medium). Their genders will remain ambiguous, so if you prefer f/m or f/f or m/m you'll be able to interpret it in anyway you'd like.

Excerpt:

Spoiler: SALEM I

You stole this thing. It's written all over your face and between your teeth. But that's okay. I'll use it if it makes you happy.

I'm sorry to say that I'm unhappier here than I was in Greenwich. There's something wrong here, and I don't know what it is. The night is too still, even for a world like this. And the air feels colder, against all odds. I can't even see the stars anymore, and the skies are cloudless.

It scares me a lot, and you know how much I hate feeling scared. But fear has been close company for the past few days. Even Mary had me on edge, and I don't know why. She was the first to welcome us, the first to shelter us, the first to feed us. You two seemed to get along, and if it weren't for her matches, you know we'd be freezing by now. She was very generous, too generous for my comfort. It's hard to believe someone would take us in without expecting some sort of payment. Resources are too precious for that.

You can understand why I have trouble sleeping with this, don't you? I'm afraid we will be robbed. I'm afraid we will be beaten. I'm afraid we will be murdered. And I'm so tired of being afraid. I want to smile without apprehension. I want to drink soup at the fireplace. I want to laugh myself to sleep with you. But even that is too much to ask, and it's killing me faster than the cold ever could.

If you're interested, let me know via PM or just post here and I'll send you it in batches.

*For those unfamiliar with this term, it refers to someone that reads over drafts to catch mistakes and make suggestions. It is a big job, so if the story sounds boring to you, or if you're too busy, don't worry about it. :P

Ah, thank you. It's cool, I'm in the same boat. The biggest obstacle is consistency though. If there's a plot hole I have to fix it, and sometimes that means erasing 2k words. Like I just did today, 'cause I'm a dum-dum that didn't think through basic human interaction, lol.

2k words that's so much... I usually think out what to write beforehand (helps I'm pretty creative)
Also about consistency I know that feel :{ if not its the worst thing ever. Write as much as you're able to, however - there is time

Re: Town of Shipping [2.0]

tfw double post but i couldn't wait to write this
forger/medium, f/f. medium is gayyyy and forger is finally not based off the ms direction skin. i cant write lol gg
Spoiler: The first time they saw eachother, was at the town's meeting. The Forger doesn't miss to notice the ginger hair framing a pale face with soft features and pooling on the green sleeves of her dress, the Medium's emerald eyes glued on her. But the Medium doesn't fail to notice the dark hair that curled at the tips, covering her forehead - unlike her own hair, the fringe splitting in two - and especially her eyes, which were mesmerizing. Enchanting and magical, they pulled her in. The light made them look brighter, a soft hazel, hints of golden sparkling in her irises.

She catches the Medium's gaze and the Forger sheepishly smiles at her - she didn't feel uncomfortable or weirded out, after all, she was looking at her too. The Medium, embarrassed by her being caught, turns her head away from her, eyes still darting now and then to her. Why, was it so weird to look at another lady like her? She wasn't told anything about it being wrong.

***

The second time they saw eachother, was at the river, far from the plaza. The Medium was on the ground, damp from the rain blessing their lands, she was ever grateful for that. She looked at the bright moon, the never ending light shining on the river and on the psychic herself. She hummed a gracious melody, a melody, which her mother taught her, whom was taught by her grandmother.

The faint rustle of leaves was heard and the cracking of branches and leaves underneath the sole of a boot. However, she didn't stop. The steps weren't threatening, or at least as she sensed them to be. Instead, they were slow, and the person that walked towards her settled down to the right side of her. The same woman as this day. Had she been watching her? Even though she didn't seem to be dangerous, even though in her grasp she held something... which she couldn't see - but it wasn't a knife nor a weapon, otherwise it'd gleam.

"Your voice is beautiful." The Medium was going to melt. The woman with the curled hairtips had a breathy voice, yet silent. Only she could hear her at this point. "Thank you. I've been singing this melody for so long... it's what I grew up with." She responded with a small chuckle, her lips curling into a smile, wide enough to reach her ears and bright enough to blind her. Her mother would always sing her to sleep with that song, holding a small pocketwatch as she towered over her daughter, who was lying down on her bed. She found herself at a loss of words, however, both of them looking at eachother with uncertainity.

"Why did you stop? Please keep going. Don't mind me - pretend I'm not even here!" From her grasp, she brought a slice of bread which was chewed around the edges - she had probably eaten a bit of it while she walked to the river. She cut a piece of it and chewed on it, biting down on it. "Why you'd bring bread?" The Medium asked, and the woman turned to her attention. "For the fish. I heard there are plenty of them. I used to live on seasides as a kid so throwing bread at the water is my habit." She explained, with a full mouth - which was very unladylike, unfortunately for her, but gulped down the piece of bread she had shoved in her mouth. "Do you want some? Surely I can spare some for you too." She extended her hand, showing her the bread that had remained, and some crumbs on it too.

"I'll take very little, so you can give the rest to the fish and keep some to yourself." Shyly, she grabbed the bread from the Forger's hand and went to cut a small enough piece - or what was considered small for her, but was interrupted. "Oh, please don't be shy. Take as much as you want! I have enough bread for a bunch of fish after all. And if there isn't enough, there's always another day that I can come here and feed them."

She gleamed at her promise - or what could be one, another day to come, so she could see her? She'd see her again at the town meetings too, but she was being too... hopeful - and encouragement, her words oh so kind, they made her feel warm. She took half of it, and the rest was given back to the black haired woman. "Thank you so much." She nibbled on it, the other grinning at her.

She'd cut it then into small pieces, throwing them at the river. The ginger haired woman notices her aim and her hands were sturdy and calloused. She must've worked while she was at the seaside. What could she be now? There is no sea here.

She just wishes she wasn't Mafia. That's her only wish. She was intently focused on the bread floating on the water, blinking some. After she had finished throwing the bread at the river and hoped the fish - if there were any - would emerge from the depths. "Now watch. The sight of them jumping up is pretty hilarious." She had snapped the train of thought she had and leaned on her, pointing at the water who slowly began to move, the tranquil state of it being altered. She notices she was freezing, her fingers subtlety brushing against hers. She touched her wrist and her fingers sneaked slowly up her sleeve, feeling the goosebumps on her flesh.

"You're cold." The Forger flushed, her breath hitching on her throat. "It's fine." She manages to stutter out, all these small touches... she prized them. They were enough. "You're going to get sick! Salem's a town that doesn't have good doctors. There's only one, after all!" She picked up her shawl and wrapped it around her shoulders, tying it around her neck. "Or maybe two, but that doesn't matter." She patted her back gently. "You should be more careful. Aside from the non-existant doctors... crime's been plaguing this town for a while." You don't say.

"And the killers too! Why us?" The Medium shrugged. There was actually a lot of political corruption which led to this, or put simply; an argument between two friends. That led to them being enemies, that led to them parting ways and one went in the way of immorality and false justice. She wrapped an arm around the Forger protectively, and they stood silently, watching the fish that would jump up to the surface, the time melting away.

***

"Adrianna." The Medium introduces herself - the third time they saw eachother. "God, I'm so sorry I fell asleep on you, Soleil!" She'd babble, covering her face. The meeting hadn't started yet, so people could go and talk to eachother before sharing their thoughts and the happenings of the previous night - the dead Jailor, shot through the heart by the Mafia and the Framer, who was found with battered bones and stab wounds. Silence had fallen upon them and Adrianna felt the fur - her shawl's fur, around her shoulders. "It's fine. I didn't mind, actually. The carrying part was hard though, I didn't know where you live." That's why she awoke in Soleil's room! In comparision to the Medium, the Forger's room was more... rich. More things. More organized and bigger. Brighter, warmer. "I took this with me yesterday. I would've given you it after you woke up, but I woke up earlier and I left." The memory of her sleepy smile was engraved in her mind. She was so peaceful when she slept, as if she were truly in peace... she didn't want to forget that sight ever.

Adrianna's head rested on the cold glass of her crystal ball, almost being lulled asleep, if it weren't for Jailor's shouts and the recently lynched Sheriff's complaints. Dealing with the dead was more of a pain than anything, but this is what she had been blessed with. The ability to speak to the dead. As a kid, this was her biggest worry. She could hear her ascendants - her descendants. It felt always like shadows curled up on her body and consumed her. Nobody would ever speak to her. They found her weird and odd... and no kid wants to be around a child that isn't acceptable by a small group of young people. It's the truth. Nobody would even walk around her and they would stop in their tracks whenever they got close to Adrianna. She always grinned with malice at them. At first, the diviner had found it as a curse... but now, it's proven more than useful.

I don't like this woman, Adrianna.

Which one, dearest Sheriff?

The one that hangs around you. I had found some documents in her house while she was away... be careful. I don't know whenever she was framed or not - the Framer refuses to even speak up, unfortunate that I'm not alive so I could beat him up.

Adrianna's heart sunk in her chest. She brought up her head from the globe, her fingers ghosting over the cold glass. That couldn't be true! There's no way that is true. She trusted Soleil. She felt like her entire world crumbled, just by the Sheriff's words. She covered the globe with the small sheet she had brought with her, the faint sound of leaves breaking underneath heels. All of her worries washed away at the sight of the Forger smiling at her, a warm and gentle smile.

Fourth time I'm seeing her... She settled down next to her again, exactly like yesterday. "You're not singing any songs of the river again?" She asked, no bad intentions, none of them. "Oh, no. Today's a busy day. Wanted to get as far as from my house, it's still a full moon." Soleil nodded at her concern, knowing how lethal the Werewolf could be... even though Adrianna knew her - the Werewolf, who had been cursed - long before that.

"Do you know the story of this river?" Soleil turns to her, looking at the diviner in the eyes. Her beautiful pools of emerald that glimmered. "No, I don't. I haven't lived here at all. Only two years have passed since I've settled in this small town." Two years? Something had happened two years ago, but her memory fails her at the worst times. "It is said that the Moon on a sullen night, after her lover had passed away, she wept a lot from heartbreak, resulting in this river being created... That's it. The story isn't really that big, but my mother had told me it." She blinked with amazement, heart strings being tugged gently by a slender finger, as if she were a harp and the melody was one reeking of adoration. "It's beautiful. I love these stories, you know? Wish I knew more stories to tell you... Most of the stories I know are related to the sea."

And the sea is endless, so is her speech about the terrors lurking in the depths of the azure saltwaters. Everything Soleil's father knew - as he was a sailor - from his travels, story after story from other people he'd tell to his little daughter with the braids and the toothy grin, passing them down to her. Adrianna found out that Soleil was very expressive, moving her hands to emphazise what the 'monsters' did and changing her voice whenever a new 'character' would be introduced or the speaker shifted from one to the other.

And Adrianna couldn't find wrong from right. In a black and white morality, Soleil was gray.

Five times she's seen the Forger. Another day comes, the sun rises to it's glory and the light washes over them, a beautiful and blessing light of the day, even though the day was chilly.

"Dear townies," the Investigator spoke up, walking forwards as her judgmental gaze was directed towards the Forger. Her nape's hair stood up, her skin prickled and fabric clung to bare skin. "This woman is a shadow lurker, and I don't like her, not even a little bit." She points at Soleil, gulping. However, she managed to recompose herself, fiddling with a curly strand of hair. "I am but a Lookout! Your words are distrustful, all of your accusions are empty... How do I know that you aren't a woman seeking to kill me because you were simply misdirected?"

"But I saw the documents on your desk!" The documents. The documents! What the Sheriff had said... It couldn't be true. However, it didn't matter. The Mafia voted up the Investigator - and accused her of being an Executioner. Some townies that were uncertain and some neutrals that didn't want to die just yet found her guilty. And the Investigator's breath stilled in her throat, as the rope around her neck tightened and her world fades.

Adrianna sees what is wrong and what is right.

The sixth and final time they meet, it's at Soleil's residence. She had her head hung low, she didn't even dare to look at the Medium anymore. She couldn't, she had lied to her... it felt so wrong.

"Forger." The Medium called out, towering over her. "Why of all people, you decided to wrap me around your finger?" She doesn't respond. Adrianna's blood boils and she begins to be impatient. "Answer me, Soleil! Why me? Didn't you have better things to do?" Her lips trembled, the Forger keeping to herself before she spoke up.

"I am but a human, Medium. And I have emotions. Which I put infront of my work."

"The Mafia being your work." She nodded. "That being said, I've proven that I am not emotionless or cruel, despite being what I am." Adrianna kneeled to face her, emerald melting into hazel. She was beautiful. But she was wrong. She was immoral and false. Adrianna however was no better... to do this to herself was the biggest mistake she had ever done. "Was it real, at least? Everything you've told me? Everything you felt for me? Or was it fake, just to distract me?"

"You were my biggest mistake, Adrianna. But I don't regret knowing you, I never will. You... You've-" She let out a meek whine, avoiding the diviner's question as she covered her eyes with the palm of her hands and silently wept. "I never lied to you. I've lied to the rest of them - hell I've even lied to the Mafia! Do you think that's not enough?"

"I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, Soleil." The Medium kisses the top of her head, a small affectionate motion which made the other shy away from her touch, but she wanted more of it. More of Adrianna's affection. But they weren't meant to be, fate had decided.

***

There's no seventh day for them. Adrianna nor Soleil look at eachother. Soleil doesn't defend herself, accepts her own fate, the fate of death. She surrendered.

"Will I ever meet you again?" The Medium asked the Forger, looking at her. She could never tear her gaze away from the Forger. Her expression was solemn, but Soleil just grinned happily. Why? "I'm positive we will meet again... Not as Adrianna or Soleil, as two other people. Maybe we'll have more luck the second time." The Medium smiled, her heart fluttering in her chest. She was going to die - all suspicions now were on the Forger, the citizens were proved to be clever this time, but she didn't really mind. The Forger's promises are always real, she never lied to the Medium.

"I love you so much." The Medium cupped the Forger's face, her skin warm against her frozen hands.

"I love you too." And she presses her lips against Adrianna's softly, their first and their last kiss.

***

"Dear citizens," the Forger spoke up, her feet grounded on the stool underneath her. "I am the Forger! There's no hiding now... Because I'm dead. That's right, isn't it?" Murmurs were audible from the crowd, as she looked down at them, wishing to fulfill the promise she had made. "What is she doing?" The Blackmailer murmured - who unfortunately was next to the Medium, luckily she wasn't even listening, biting at the skin of his fingers, his gaze cast downwards. "And thus, I am to be deemed guilty."

And she was guiltied by most of the Mafia, then the Medium, and some other townsfolk amongst them being killers. She allows herself to take a final breath, to look at the Medium and to mouth 'I'm sorry', because, she really was sorry, but also, now it didn't matter. The rope pressed against her pale and thin neck, it didn't matter. Her vision blurred.

But it was okay, because she'd see her again. Dead or alive.
