You are in human form because of a special magic and to keep your corrent form you need to win this tournament of duels dances bloods and tears. Your mask represent your initial form. You are all enemies of each other.
The boat catches fires as you reach the coast. You all have to leave it as it burns away.
An old man waits for you.
"Welcome everyone. I am the great wizard who made your whish come true. You all had a human's life before thats why my magic could not work any of your families. But my magic is weak and can not support so many creatures as it used to. I like you all and could not choose which one of you dont remain human. That's why I decided I copy this tournament which is made by a lot of others already. You can use your past lifes ability to overcame this challenge. Let the battle begin"
