Several of them have burn marks on their skin, and a strange black ooze is dripping from one of them. A few of them seem unconscious, but still breathing and alive.

The Ooze seems to be draining the life force from the person, it's using magic. However, the magic is NOT Prayar magic, and therefore completely unknown.

The man will die unless given life force from someone else.
