It's handy against Mafia because you can see everything they chat and they might say roles, but it is'nt that big of a deal to the Mafia, because they can mislead Spy, so Mafia says: Frame "name of a member of the Mafia" and then spy thinks they have a framer and a member of the Mafia is actually framed...

To be honest, a lot of people said, town is already overpowered also the mafia chat should be used freely and without stress, and I agree. A spy can know or suspect who is mafia from the way they type, also mafia can suffer losing a member because one player is new to a game. One last thing, for all of you guys saying "NO" so fast just think about it, town has the highest chance of winning so why not give a chance to other factions to win? As much as YOU want have fun when playing the game, think about other roles who struggle to win.

I must admit this question is rather iffy. Yes and no in equal measures. In the right hands, spy is an incredibly powerful role. When you have a large mafia group with diverse roles, you can narrow down the possible mafias within the first 3 nights. Detract whoever wasnt visited and bam, you have a list of possible suspects.

Being able to see mafia chat doesnt usually add much to a game, but it does, however help town to figure out what to look for in debunking false role claims. You know when they have a consig, you know when a target is forged or otherwise cleaned.

To support the 'no camp' of this question, mafia, as a whole is incredibly powerful. Often times 5 mafia can get an easy majority, coupled with the often times passive towns. In addition they have the chance to clean/forge the spy empty. Especially with the blackmailer buff, I feel that the spy is quite evenly matched to the mafia.

So no, do not change the spy.

Yes. It makes playing as mafia be like playing alone, you can't coordinate stuff, set up plays. Spy is a hard role to play, too much information, so this nerf could potentially be a buff for people who have a hard time playing spy.

NO! Then there isn't a point in being spy. Just equal the blackmailer/framer out, like, blackmailer can see Jailor chat/vamp chat, framer messes up TI results if they hit a TI. And Spy maybe could turn into a neutral, being secret agent, seeing all the secret chats, like:

VAMPIRE: So now I wait?
MAFIA: Not 6 you idiot, that's me!

That would be like OP, but you're neutral, so you decide how you use it! I think that would be equal for all roles, that not only 1(or more) guy sees 1 chat, making the mafia have less privacy, but 1(or more) guy sees all secret chats, so that no one has privacy. But they still don't see names, maybe for the jailed tho... I hope this idea is OK, and you don't think you wasted time reading it.

No the spy's ability to see the Mafia's Chat and the Mafia's move is the whole point why there even is a spy. Without the spy being able to see the chat their would be no point in having a spy. The spy should get another special ability that he should be able to do.

This is a horrible idea, then they know what roles people are claiming, and TI's will not longer be able to pass on information in private to the Jailor, this would make blackmailor extremely overpowered. They already added the ability to see whispers, that was enough.

Yes, because mafia needs to make strategy. Town is absolutely powerful than evil roles right now. Mafia chat should be secret to the town roles. Spy is ruining this. I'm not saying just remove this ability, you can put less powerful thing instead this. Make mafia breathe at night at least. There are jailor, bg, veteran, vigilante and NK roles for deal with.

No, because that is one of the things that makes the spy a fun role to play. Seeing the mafia chat and having to figure out who it is basically the only thing that makes the role fun and useful in-game.
