Forum Update [8/3/2015]

Ahoy Townies,

Earlier this evening, we did some forum maintenance to update some stuff for the forums.

Here I'll just briefly go over the changes.

Forum Changes:

• The SIMG BBCode is now back in action. However, only Trusted Users are able to use this tag. If you try using it, and you aren't one, it should just be removed.
  
• New Smilies!
• And as I promised you earlier, an TOS theme has been added to the forums. This is a work in progress and community assistance and feedback is encouraged. Feed back thread here. (Note, since people are saying the TOS theme 'looks bad'. As I said, its a work-in-progress. Instead of saying "bad", suggest ways to fix.)

Regarding BBCodes

Along with the re-release of SIMG, a whole new system was implemented to give more control as to who can use what BBCodes. This will allow us to be more flexible as to who we do and don't allow to use them. For the reasoning behind this, see viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25235.

Currently, if you try to use a BBCode that you do not have permissions for, the tag will be stripped away. IE "[blah]something[/blah]" will just become "something". However, there may be a case where you will get "noallowed" as a tag instead. If this happens, let me know so I can fix this (harmless, but not intended). If you are trying to use a BBCode, and it won't let you, even though you should be able to, let me know and I will try to get it sorted out ASAP.

P.S. Yes, yes, I know you all will want to try out these new smilies for yourself. Go ahead, the smiley rule will be excepted here. Spam is still not tolerated. Therefore, pure smiley, or mostly smiley posts will still be deleted. As always, keep posts thoughtful. Enjoy!

Are you taking suggestions for new emoticons? If so, I advise :distracted:
It is one of the more highly used emoticons in the FM section, and I am sure the many FM users would greatly appreciate it.

yeah...some colours on the ToS Skin look a bit bad.
Probably gonna stick with the default since I'm used to that anyway. :P

It's easy, just switch to default and the icons are explained.

Makes me very happy to see most of my icons being used in this theme (the head, the Sheriff star and the Sheriff Head and the jailed heads). Looks as nice as I hoped it would against a wood theme.

I like the theme and the change in color, but the way its organized makes me prefer the original set-up.

Should we list all our feedback for the theme in this thread or somewhere else?

As others have said in the thread, such as Nelly and ronit, the FM players use it quite often regardless of it being an emoji. Adding it officially would be fantastic, as it would allow all users of FM to use it, trusted or otherwise, and all in all just be a great gesture to the FM community. I, on behalf of those in support, implore you in earnest to add it.

For me, the only problem with the new skin are the "no new messages" and "new messages" images, featuring the common towner in grey scale or full color. The problem is that everything is too brown, so the difference is not as big as the red and blue from before, which was enough to make a person with OCD go mad.
