How's the situation, Mark?

He smiles again, suddenly.

But god, you have to admit I was right about crazy chainsaw killer, right? Anyway, Peter, you ready to go meet up with the Doc?

Well. that turned up uneventful. Reckon we've got max two cycles before things start to get serious and people realize they are on death's door.

Don't talk like that. Coalition's out the window, sure. But we can still find a different option. Nothing is perfect. There's got to be a way still.

That was what I just reasoned, Mark. GLad we're on the same page. And Tom, maybe you truly are right if she took out a gun. Where the hell did she take it from...?

I don't give a fuck about the US in here. I can't help my boys. I can't even talk to them. So as long as Jackson is laughing at us, I don't care what's happening out there. And anyone--anyone--who would put their own political aims over the lives of others in here has another thing coming. We aren't gonna make it to a third decision, because we're gonna be long gone by then.

Yeah, Tom. Let's check in with the Doc.

He shrugs.

I doubt it matters. She's got it, and even all the power in the world couldn't get her to budge. All we can do is a workaround.

Yeah. We just have to focus on beating this. We'll be fine, somehow.

Nope. I'm using simple mathematics for this work.

As I understand is there are four people that lost a point. That leaves them on two. Next phase they need to betray and since nobody is holding groups accountable for betraying, everyone is going to betray. That will put the people at two points to one point. Same result next, and then people with one point find themselves with zero points.

And once they hit zero points... I don't care if you betrayed or not. If you choose to remain complicit then you are willingly deciding to kill four people in exactly two cycles. That is unless we get something done now.

Inaction is an action by itself. Don't pretend it's otherwise.

We don't even have any evidence that you are telling the truth about this wonder weapon. Killing for an ideal is just insanity. And sadly...

Mark's right. I have a suspicion someone pulled the plug on me last phase--I'm down a point. One less from that Control Room, right? It's probably the key to getting us outta here.

Nobody is talking about killing for an ideal. That's what you are thinking.

However, doing nothing will result in the death's of four people. Maybe I care too much because my neck is on the line. Maybe it's too much to ask people to trouble themselves to care about something else.

I've got ideas. Some of them are much worse than others, but we do have options.

How will doing nothing kill four people, even if we waited that long?

Least we can do is make a law. That won't stop people from betraying however, but it's the least that can be done.

Peter, give me your token. I was the one that was able to give it to you in the first place.

People that were betrayed this round need to betray.
People that betrayed this round will betray because they don't want to be betrayed.

There is currently no penalty for betraying. Not even an apology.

Peter and Tom arrive. Nicole, Abner, Terrance, and Inteus are here. Michael arrives soon after.

You enter the room and are hit with a vague sense of overwhelming pressure. The location seems built like a prison, sporting a short hallway, a panel of ballistic glass, and several locked bars block you from the plethora of equipment you spot on the other side of the counter.

Blocking your view somewhat is a grizzled face, smoking a pipe of some sort. He wears an old military uniform, clearly made for dress rather than combat thanks to its relatively bright color palette. He stares at you judgmentally, as if staring into your soul.
