Fabiano takes the combat knife, and looks blankly at it.

Can you fix it?

Probably, if I can't then no one can.

Oberyn scoffs.

Yeah, I'm sure he's saying that. I can guess some things that would explain this, but there's a pretty simple explanation.

He fully turns towards the group and crosses his arms.

There's multiple sensible, if not odd choices, that explain this new shit. Don't go freaking out of your minds about it.

The simplest explanation is, we've never actually seen Leontiy before this point. Have you considered the person talking to us might not even be him?

Vano, let me see that ID real quick.

I've seen Leontiy. When he abducted Lucille and myself.

I'll need to head to P lab to fix this, but it's doable. Let me see the combat knife and then I'll hand it back.

Oberyn shrugs.

You know what I meant. An unordinate amount of time probably passed since then. Plenty of time for the guy to get himself stabbed in the chest, while someone talks to us through the watches passing up as him.

just continues blankly staring at the knife

...Seems whatever this body is, it died.. a week or two ago. But the knife isn't actually what killed him.

Indeed.
Choked to death it seems. The knife seems like overkill or a red herring, who knows.

Oberyn raises his eyebrows at Nelson.

You can tell that sort of thing? Impressive.

Barely even any blood. Otherwise it's completely clean.

This was not used to kill Leontiy.

Tell me when you all are done with the body. I'd like to show this to our "leontiy" on the comms and see what excuse he comes up with.

[He nods, turning his head slightly towards Oberyn.]

He didn't die in this room. The knife was only an afterthought, based on the fact there's no blood from the wound. He was already dead.
As Seliph mentioned.. he was choked. Probably fiberwire, or something along the lines. But he was very clearly moved here.

..If I had to guess, he probably died right around the time I was kidnapped, but.. I cannot be sure. Just a hunch.

I suppose we don’t really have a way of verifying the exact date since getting injected with soporil.

When he was talking to us, he seemed to have a great deal of information. Information that only the CEO of Titan or someone of similar status would know. It’s possible this Leontiy was the one who coughed up that information, but I’ll admit I have my doubts. It’s hard to deny the reality in front of us, however.

Oberyn looks at the body again and frowns.

Maybe he was betrayed.

He crosses his arms and paces around the room, focusing on different objects as he talks.

He helped cook the entire thing up. Used his position to provide the infrastructure required for this fucked "game" of theirs. Both that and getting information on everybody here, washing hands one place and the other, and personally getting in contact with some of you here. Hywel, Fabiano, Lucille. Came back here to finish things.

Then, whoever he had paired up with to pull this off stabbed him in the back. Or well, choked. Maybe this person was the one who flew the ship towards us. The same person talking to us through the guise of "Leontiy" in our watches.

Yes, that’s possible. I’m unsure what the motivation would be to pretend to be Leontiy, but it could work. It’s the only thing that makes sense. At the same time, the person in charge of this game is presumably the one who brought us to the docks, yes? Why expose their own deception like that?

It doesn't really matter what their motivation would be. If that's what you're asking, might as well start with "what is their motivation for all of this" in the first place. We still don't have a clear answer to that. Not to mention, what would be their motivation, this second person's motivation, for killing Leontiy. This theory, as probable as it may sound, is not without it's own set of questions.

I understand your second point as well. It would reveal their hand by letting us go into here. But then one must ask, why wasn't the body removed? The answer I can assume is: they wanted us to find the body. Why? Beats me.

And yet...

Oberyn halts his stroll at the window, looking out of it into the distance. Back turned to all, he takes a probably intentional dramatic pause.

There's one other possible answer. This one might sound more interesting, actually.

That’s fair. Questioning motive is probably unhelpful at this stage. If they dragged us here and showed us this sight, I would have to agree they wanted us to see the body.

Well, don’t keep us in suspense, Oberyn. What’s this second possibility?
