Someone enters the station, arriving through means unknown but coming up from the lower levels. You hear their voice before you see their face:

"Life ... is a Zero sum game.
For every winner, there must be a loser.
And for every loser, a winner.

No winner can exist without a loser, and no loser can exist without a winner."

The figure comes into view, having finished coming up the stairs. They are wearing a blue robe with a plague doctor mask.

“Greetings players of the East, West and everywhere in between. I am … Zero. I’d like for us to play a game. A Decision Game. A Decision Game to decide the fates of you, me, and all citizens Villdur both West and East. I shall now explain the rules of the game. During the Game, you are free to travel to any station on any activated line. Every now and then, I will summon everyone back here to play in a Decision Game. Solving certain puzzles in certain areas may also trigger Decision Games. During Decision Games, you may have the opportunity to win Life Tokens and Death Tokens. Life Tokens are awarded for trusting your opponents and being trusted in return. Death Tokens are awarded for betraying your opponents. Should someone obtain three Life Tokens, they may exchange them for their freedom. All remaining players will continue to play the Decision Game until they themselves escape or are killed. Life Tokens may not be stolen and are not transferred on death. Another way to escape is to acquire enough Death Tokens. A Death Token is awarded to you if you kill someone. Death Tokens can be stolen or freely given to other players, and should you kill someone you will receive all of their Death Tokens. As an added incentive, should someone with Death Tokens escape or commit suicide, their Death Tokens will be given as an added bonus to the next killer. Should any one individual acquire ten or more Death Tokens, I shall activate the Yellow Line for all remaining players to use, allowing all remaining living players to escape.

Now, you may be wondering if the entire Decision Game will be played out in this station. The answer to this question is no. As you can see, there is a control panel for the subway trains in these tunnels. There are four lines: Orange, Green, Blue and Yellow. In order to activate a line, you must first find its corresponding coloured key and place it in the control panel. I shall activate the Orange Line for you once I have finished my explanations. Trains shall come to every station on every activated line approximately once every hour. I will be wandering around as well, but usually I will be here, in AB Station. Feel free to drop by with any questions you may have. But now I believe that the trains are due to arrive any moment now. Feel free to visit any station on the Orange Line. Maps are present at every station should you need them.”


Zero pulls out an orange key and uses it to activate the Orange Line. A rumbling is heard as the trains come to life.

The first moves will be processed in 30 minutes, or when all players have submitted move actions.

Roaming has begun.
