I actually REALLY like this role idea!

It has a unique concept and is creative, but it has Negative Utility. (A role that hurts it's own Faction as much as it helps.) It kills it's own members just to kill an opponent, and that's not really a great concept.

Bodyguard basically does that too.

I really like the idea but, let's think of this logically. Basically, if a retributionist and a revealed mayor were in the same game as this role. The Sacrificer could kill the Mayor and then retributionist could just bring back the mayor no harm done.

So, I'll only give a suggestion you shouldn't be able to sacrifice a revealed mayor. An unrevealed maybe but a revealed would be to op. So if you make changes so it isn't an oped vigi, then you'll be able to get more support.

Something I REALLY love about this role is that it will also help to punish gamethrowing players with important roles.

You see, if you have a good jailor/mayor that is doing their job, and you see the town doing well, you might think twice before using your abilities, or will use it near the end to get the last mafia.

But if you got a jerk mayor that lynches everyone for no reason, or a jailor that lost his executions for executing somebody only because they didn't like them, then sacrificing them is simply the rational thing to do.

Besides, it's incredibly well balanced, being as powerful as its dangerous to town.

I really hope this role makes it, it will games super interesting.

I still don't get it.

It kills 2 townies for a scum, or a townie for 2 neutrals, both with completely even tradeoffs.

The best strategy is to find a NK/Mafia member that has the same number as a neutral, with no town member with the same priority:
No Bodyguard. There is a SK. You kill the Godfather, and because there is no town member with priority 9, the neutral with priority 9(serial killer) dies.
Or did I miss something?

It won't kill a high priority scum for a cheap townie. You can't just execute a medium and kill the godfather. There is strategy in knowing who you are sacrificing.

Say, for example, you sacrifice a spy. If there is no Disguiser in game, but there is a survivor, then oops you just sacrificed a spy to kill the survivor. It doesn't always kill a mafia and it doesn't always kill a serial killer.

The strategy is knowing what roles are in the game, and then figuring out what your best sacrifice is so that town can survive even when losing a member.

How about, if a neutral or mafia is selected to be sacrificed, then the highest ranking town member alive dies, instead of one of equal power, making a misread more punishing, especially if you sacrifice a jester/amne/surv/exe. In the case of multiple town members alive on the same level.... probs random who dies? I believe the biggest problem this role has is that atm I see no reason why you wouldnt just pick someone to sacrifice as soon as you can- so n3 currently? or is it n4 (you said wait 3 nights?)

The problem with this is that it benefits town alot. Town can easily win if there is only 1 scum left and this role is alive. It's like a bodyguard, trade 1 for 1, so usually town will benefit more from it

The problem with this role is that one Town for one Scum is an uneven trade. No matter how you modify it.

End of story.

This is why Bodyguard is an absolute pile of trash.

I know, I just liked this role a lot, but I realized a long time ago that it is just impossible to balance... Guess I will leave it at that, I'm gonna try and make a new role eventually, hopefully much better.
