Banker (NeutralEvil)

Role: Banker
Alignment: NeutralEvil
Unique role?: Yes

Goal: Lynch all who oppose you
Abilities: Every night, select a target to buy their vote on the next day.
Attributes: You cannot be killed by the Mafia (since, historically, the mafia love banks)
You may only bribe three times.
You win with: Mafia, Witches, Survivors... uh, please help on this!
You must kill the: Town, SerialKillers, WereWolves, Vampires, Arsonists

Chat box:
Spoiler: Investigator/Consigliere text: "Target is skilled at manipulating others. They could be Escort, Transporter, Consort, or Banker!"
Sheriff text: "Target is not suspicious"
Mafioso/Godfather text: "Target is immune to your attack!"

Ups and Downs:
Spoiler: Upsides:
    When you bribe a town member, his vote becomes null
    (Please vote on this) Bribed target can only speak/whisper 3 lines of text per day using at most 20 characters (excluding spaces and special characters) per line.
    You cannot die to the mafia.
Downsides:
    You cannot bribe a SerialKiller, Vigilante, Arsonist, Jester,
    Vampires or Executioner
    You do not have total night immunity.
    Your target knows when you bribe them and can tell the town about it the next day.
    You can only bribe 3 times per game
    SerialKillers and Vigilantes will kill you if you try to bribe them


Achievements: Spoiler: Money Talks - win the game as the Banker
Banker Gangster - bribe a member of the Mafia (shows up at the end of the game)
Can't buy Batman! - try to bribe a Vigilante
Burn a hole in your pocket - try to bribe an Arsonist (shows up at the end of the game)
Bad Investment - Bribe someone as he dies on the same night
Corrupt Politician - Bribe the Mayor (shows up at the end of the game)
SerialKiller's Achievement: I don't want no stinkin' money! - Have a Banker try to bribe you


Please, people, help with this role! I'm specifically asking for edits that help with Anonymity, Kingmaking, and general balance.I guess some achievements are good, too. Never mind, that can be worked out by the devs. But I do need some bumping so that others may see it. Nomination for the Testing Grounds are good, too... I guess...

Also, if it seems like I'm copying other Banker role ideas, I'm not. I haven't even read any of them. Any and all similarities are purely coincidental and unintentional.

Good idea, bad execution.

It would be neutral (Benign) Which no one EVER likes.

Town would see you more as evil instead of Town.

Overview & changes: If this were to be in the game, it would break any alignment it might be in (except for one)
Remove the Mayor/Jailor buff and the Vet/vig downside, Remove blackmailing & notification, Only change your target's vote weight (they can still vote, but it's worth nothing) and give it the ability to corrupt players into winning with you. (with some drawback)

Alignment (abilities kept): Blackmailer silences & can't die to mafia already, so this is too powerful to be Mafia. It does more harm than Transporter, so it can't be town. The only class it fits with is Neutral. And it's sub alignment? Benign needs to be weak because it wins with everyone, and obviously it doesn't kill. That leave Evil and Chaos. Seeing as how Vampire can take a member from the town & basically gain 2 votes from it, I'd say controlling the votes is fit for Chaos.

Alignment: Neutral (Chaos)
Goal: Live to see the town lose.

Goal (with above changes): Lynch everyone who would oppose you.

but if you insist, back when i posted that pic you had a surv wincon which is no-go, you seem to have fixed that so good job, credit where its due

It makes sense though, because the Mafia loves money. Also what invest results would you do for this role. TBH, I like this role, I think it has mass amounts of potential, but only after the kinks have been worked out.

To be honest, none of those invest results are very good for the banker.

With that said I like this result from Orange's invest overhaul list (link will be provided):

I think you should just replace trans with banker (or not) and it will be the most balanced result and the invest result that makes the most sense.

Stealing votes is something suggested before and I support.
This role is just too complex for the job, and where's Mafia on the win's with?
Why does it only win with a few things?
2 votes is hardly enough to do anything for something like a NK.
Currently it's NC, but it should be edited for NE

I agree with the fact that it should win with the Mafia

Maybe also get rid of limited uses? Or would it make it a kingmaker??

Ok, I guess I have a lot of editing to do. I will add the Mafia win, and the NE alignment (even though I've seen a LOT of NEs on this forum), but not the unlimited use, as that is indeed Kingmaking. Is 3 times enough, oliy?

I suggested this before, but it wasn't clarified.

It's ability should corrupt other people in the town, making them able to win with you, but can still win with their faction.
For example: When visiting twice, that player is allowed to win with you. (On third visit, they defect to your side completely?) Alive on your own, you're vote only counts as one. If you had the power to corrupt, even if it takes forever, you'd get 3 votes, and even 4 if you're really lucky.

I think the only way to keep this role balanced, would be to give it the power to corrupt & remove it's mafia win condition. Any other cond. would make it so strange, it's unplayable.

Looking at the OP, which has been greatly edited since I last read this, I prefer Nsa's version over kookies (sorry) as Nsa's is a lot more simpler then kookies.

As of right now, I like the banker role after the edits, I suggest people who looked at the banker in it's early stages take another look at the edited version and hopefully you will have better opinions on the banker.

1) My eyes hurt from staring at your profile image. Where'd you get it? :)
2) It wouldn't make historical sense for the Mafia to kill a Banker, so you're right, it's pretty much a Blackmailer buff. But if it's a BM buff, then that would make the BM too OP. So I made it a NeutralEvil. I would have made it NeutralChaos, but Vampires are Chaos, and some of the louder forum commenters hate Vamps.
The Banker has a lot of money. What do you do with money? Bribe someone, of course! You are probably the only one who asked that question.
