Ya, thiss role is really good, and I like how it is independent of the factions thing, not really any on faction

I would say change 5 to 6 so the numbers aren't completely fucked up after you hit town

Sorry, but I have to say nix to six.

The town visit needs to be an odd number of hours. It doesn't fuck up the numbers, look at my calculations in the post above.

I think the target's messages should just be kept to

"Someone occupied your night! You were roleblocked!"

and

"You were attacked but someone nursed you back to health!"

Probably wouldn't be healthy for this role's existence to be confirmed so easily.

But this is a krazy kool concept. Still need to run it through my head a few times to decide if its balanced, though.

I voted for the second choice on the poll.

Not to mention, blandifying the target's results would take away from the confirmability of Escorts and Doctors.

ummm, no it should be separate simply because this role will be confirmed soon anyway. also can force doctors and bgs on the person to prevent him from being killed.
a quick question, if the second time the person is healed, does the clock still get set forward? can the Paradoxist use the person again?

Consort is a rather detectable role, but it doesn't get a special message. Just because this role does reveal itself sooner rather than later isn't a good reason to have it reveal even sooner. I wouldn't expect this role to visit a target for a second time at the earliest chance they get. At least, that's not how I would play with it.

Your clock stays locked at 12 once you win, so the Witch wouldn't do anything to your victory.

I think you should be able to keep visiting people even after victory -- there's no reason to punish people for winning; but you probably shouldn't receive messages saying "You visited Mafia/Town/Neutral, your clock moved X hours."

Arpitr20 wrote:if the second time the person is healed, does the clock still get set forward? can the Paradoxist use the person again?

The Paradoxist's clock will change for the second visit as well as the first visit.

On a purely thematic basis, I'd prefer if there was a special message for being sent backwards in time, but otherwise I don't think it would matter too much.

The warning for being rescinded might come in the Paradoxist's favor, since he could whisper something like "Hey Invest, stfu about me being Paradoxist or I'm gonna visit you again". Besides, it's not like being doused, which is a guaranteed death sentence once the Arsonist ignites.

You're right, you definitely wouldn't want to start erasing people N2, unless you think you'd have some other leads on the following days.

But here's the thing -- the Paradoxist can win with everyone. There aren't going to be any serious attempts at hunting him out. Do people really care about lynching the Executioner in Standard ToS? Rarely. Unless you immediately start erasing everyone you visit, then no one is going to care about you.

It's not a matter of this role being found out that I had in mind; it was a matter of claimspace for other Neutral Chaos roles, or roleblockers, to claim. Of course, a special message would be needed for being sent back in time, though.

The Executioner stays alive after winning. Paradoxists should also survive victory so they can punish those who previously worked against them.

Very creative. I think this would add a bit of spice to the game. Do your attacks go through night immunity?

Thanks.

Erasing should definitely go through night immunity. The Paradoxist shouldn't be night immune himself.

Kirize12 wrote:Executioners shouldn't stay alive after winning, that is horridly unbalanced.

Unbalanced? I don't think so. The Executioner is just one vote. He's not unbalanced.

The Executioner is night-immune. The Paradoxist shouldn't be night immune. If he starts voting with the town after winning, like the Executioner usually does, then he might get killed at night.

The Paradoxist might receive some de-facto playtesting if we can get enough people here:

I really like the idea of this, and I actually really hope it will make it into TOS. However, it doesn't seem like that much of a threat. To be fair though, it would really suit Neutral Chaos. But my question is, once it has won, does it just do nothing like an Executioner, or does it do something else? If it is killed after it has won, does it still win?
Sometimes it's nice to just watch the world BURN.

The Paradoxist wins once he reaches 12 o'clock, he can be killed after that and still win.

Some people think he should automatically die as soon as he wins, but I don't think it's a good idea to punish people for winning.

I showed it to Kiyosen. I don't know if they'll be able to test it any time soon, but it might be unofficially tested by Arpitr if we can get enough people.
