~Overhaul Tests Masterthread~ (Needs players)

This will have to be put on hold until the TG forms a large enough playerbase.

----------------------------------------------------------

What are overhaul tests?
Overhaul tests are a new kind of test performed in the Testing Grounds where existing aspects of the game are changed or removed, and for each type of test, statistics will be tracked. Based on the statistics, aspects of the overhaul will be altered, and form a new version. Should the ideal overhaul be tested extensively, it will hopefully be implemented into the game.

What do we need from the community?
We need a full game for each overhaul test, but the number of players needed for a full game may vary between versions of overhauls. We also need every version of the overhaul to be recorded by the host for stats such as who won, who lost, when there were draws, and how many games there were (and not recording games with moderator errors.)
We also need these overhaul tests to be taken seriously, and although full effort isn’t required in the game (to simulate the general ToS community,) we want serious overhauls in the best attempt to achieve the ideal win rate.
Finally, we need people to spread the word about this so we can have more tests, and this also impacts normal testing. Invite people from games, advertise the TG in your signature, and find other ways to gain activity in the TG so we get more role tests and overhaul tests.
Only for this first version, the community will help alter it to what we feel is ideal. I feel V1 needs some double-checking to ensure we get a solid start in this new system. Post below what you feel could be changed for the better.

What are our goals?
The goal of these new tests is to create a version of the game where all roles have an equal shot of winning in Ranked and Classic mode. This number can vary depending on the setup, from 20%, 25%, 33%, or 50% being the win rate of every role in these setups. This makes the game as balanced as possible, so everyone has an equal chance of enjoying victory, while also encouraging more competitive gameplay as the better players are more likely to win.
Once we have a version that has been tested extensively and has equal win rates of every alignment, we will suggest our changes to the developers to the game in hopes that they implement our changes for the better of the game.

Who can host or create versions of overhauls?
Anyone can, should they be supervised by someone qualified to. Fill in an empty row in the Hosting Requests Spreadsheet, and check it consistently to see if a supervisor placed their name in the “supervisor” column. If nobody puts their name in the supervisor column by the time you want to schedule your test, no supervisors were available at the time and you may reschedule your test. After the test is complete, you will send a PM to Oliy including the user who supervised the test, the version of the overhaul used, and how many games there were with the number of victories for each faction present, not including games with moderator errors. (Note on Supervisors - They can just watch the game or they can play in it)
You may also submit a version of overhaul by creating a Google Drive Spreadsheet, following the criteria given on the existing Spreadsheet, and share it with Oliy through PM, and should it look like a legitimate overhaul, it will be added under it’s own version name, and with the author(s) attached to it. After that, anyone may test your version of overhaul!

Can I participate in Overhaul Tests?
Of course! Check the Hosting Requests spreadsheet, find a game on a time that is available to you, and at that time go to the second TG server to play! If a game is ongoing, the server is full, or the host says the game is full, you may spectate the game if you can, but leave and find another time if they don’t allow you to.

This is more organized, and all tests regard roles and not gameplay as a whole. We have a set list of changes if we take action.

I actually like this Idea!
With this (and a bit more publicity) we could basically run tests 24/7 as hosts now can be "randomly" chosen from the available players!

Real Hosts should be still able to just shove themselves in.

It's a good idea, though. I do have some things that could be tested.

Executioner
Neutral (Evil)
Goal: trick the town into lynching your target, or survive to see town lose.
Abilities: Trick the town into lynching your target.
Attributes: You cannot be killed at night.
You cannot be converted.
Your target is [Target], [Role]
Sheriff: Your target is not suspicious.
Consigliere: Your target vandalizes pictures of [Target]. They must be an Executioner.
Your target cannot be the Mayor, Jailor, Tracker, Retributionist, or Transporter (Town Power+Tracker)
(Reasoning: Tracker can technically confirm self. "Hey who did I visit?"

Arsonist: Douses are silent, Douses frame people PERMANENTLY, Douses extend the draw counter like a kill would.

Werewolf: Can fake an alert on an odd night and get kills with it. Anyone who visits a werewolf on a full moon dies, regardless of target. The town will be told that they were killed by a Veteran, and so will they. After three "Veteran" kills, anyone who visits will still die, but it will appear to be a WW.

Sheriff: Can detect Arsonist. Can detect Vampires. (No Vampires in TG, so this wouldn't really matter..)

Investigator changes: Your target is relentless. They are either a Sheriff, Tracker, Executioner, or Godfather
Your target likes tricking people. They are either a Framer, Vampire, or Arsonist

(TG result: Your target smells like gas. They are either a Framer, or an Arsonist!

The only problem that I see is that Town's winrate in ToS would be a lot lower than it would be in TG with the same balancing, because ToS has a lot of new and bad players, while most people who use the forums and the TG are experienced at ToS.

No 2 swingy

Arsonist: Douses are silent, Douses frame people PERMANENTLY sure, Douses extend the draw counter like a kill would somewhat implied.

I think that's too inconsistent for a kill number

Sheriff: Can detect Arsonist nopls arsonist is still weak. Can detect Vampires. or in the game (No Vampires in TG, so this wouldn't really matter..)

Investigator changes: Your target is relentless. They are either a Sheriff, Tracker, Executioner, or Godfather

(Kirize make your own version if you want true by the people, this first one is mainly my creation with some outside double-checking)

(BTW the NC roles are fillers as there aren't many at the moment and they have different practicalities.)

I like how you don't pay attention to most of the roles in the TG and instead just like "people can just test my roles instead lol"

P-Edit: Wait this thread is literally just "make me a TG host and don't listen to anyone else"

Jammy did you fucking read the OP?
The only roles that are mine is Historian, which is made to balance the death swing, and NC roles as placeholders as there aren't any besides Vampire.
Also, it's not "make me a TG host" it's "everyone can host in attempt to balance, not to test roles."
Finally, you can make your own versions you plebe, mine is just the start and I want some checking.

I'm considering having our first test at 11AM EST (3PM GMT, 8AM PST) on 10/23 (23/10) or 10/30 (30/10) (next Sunday or the Sunday after that).
Which one would work better for everybody (in general)?
