It's both a blessing and a curse. After I stopped posting here and found my way into other communities without forums, any kind of long-conversation type idea I had I would turn into a script for a YouTube video (there weren't really better options if you wanted to get a more in-depth idea out there). The positive aspect is YouTube videos feel more substantial and are something I can look back on more proudly than forum posts, plus they make a bit of money . The downside is that making YouTube videos is hard and the vast majority of my scripts ended up either rotting away in Google Drive or just being turned into Discord rants that nobody responds to. Now I don't have to worry about those ideas that I'll never find the time to turn into something larger, but also there's the eternal feeling of doubt of "should I have made this into a YouTube video instead of a forum post"

Forums are going to be around as long as big name games (mainly MMOs) are around and/or anonymity is valued

Based on the technological infrastructures needed to facilitate its existence
