I was banned for an inappropriate in-game name: Kid Diddler.
I'll start off by saying yes, I have read the rules around appeals, and I now know pedophilia content is cause for an instant permanent ban with no appeal, but I beg you to at least hear me out.
I have played over 500 games of Town of Salem, and as you'll see in my reports from the TrialBot, other than a couple of gamethrowing reports that happened because I either had to step away for a moment, or needed to leave shortly after getting into a game, I haven't done anything wrong (until now).
I almost always name myself something based on other names in the lobby. This particular lobby ended up having almost half of the lobby using some form of pedophilia-related name, I believe because one of the players' actual username was "IFucChildren", or something to that extent. Without really thinking about it, I simply went along with the "theme", thus my name, Kid Diddler.
I know what I did was wrong, I will never deny that. However, everyone makes mistakes. This is one of my favorite games, I've played it for years, with friends and by myself, and it's close to becoming my most played game on Steam. I kindly ask that you not let one mistake (and I know, this wasn't just a small mistake) in 250 hours of playtime be cause for a permanent ban. I would ask instead for a 7 day suspension, and I promise this mistake will never be made again. Thank you for your consideration.
