What Does Pot of Greed Do?

Postby YosueElShirtlessSkin » Fri Jan 25, 2019 8:36 am

I've spent years of my life trying to decipher the secret code that is the effect of the clay container of miserly desires. It is rather unfortunate that I could not come to the conclusion that the effect is whatever the effect is supposed to be. I, simply put, require the assistance of a certain forum on the internet to help me determine what the verbose message in the bottom text means, so that I can play it in the traditional format of a Japanese card game created by Konami. I wish to offer my sincerest expression of gratitude for the aid you decided to provide and wish you well on this very fine day.

Well, it's a slightly weaker version of Ancestral Recall, but since YuGiOh doesn't have a mechanic for mana, Pot of Greed lacks a cost to play. Whether this makes it better or worse overall, I don't know, but Ancestral Recall is considered one of the strongest cards ever made for its game.

Pot of Greed
6 Brains
Zombie Trick
Draw a card. If the card you drew is a zombie, conjure a copy of that zombie. If the card you drew is a trick, draw another card. If the card you drew is an enviroment, conjure a Pot of Greed.

yugioh doesnt have mana costs, pot of greed is so insanely strong its banned in both yugioh formats. this is the closest thing to pot of greed thats unrestricted and its still considered insanely strong

Banish 10 cards from the top of your Deck, face-down; draw 2 cards. You can only activate 1 "Pot of Desires" per turn.

translating this to mtg turns: sorcery. exile the top 10 cards of your library facedown, then draw 2 cards. you may only cast this spell once per turn.
