I like to consider this game a continuation of the true pacifist ending where all the monsters go back up to the surface. So yeah, it's a sequel lol
I like the new and improved battle system, I think it's kinda cool to have spells you can use to put enemies to sleep and spare, etc. The comedy is also fantastic in this game too. All of the characters manage to have great lines, probably because of how well-developed they are.
I'm not sure how I feel about the "your choices don't matter" theme. I think a big part of UT was being able to choice your own path, and the different paths really made it stand out. This game puts extreme emphasis on the fact that your choices will have no effect on the ending. While that's not completely true (there's apparently a pacifist AND a neutral ending), this game really doesn't give you that much freedom when it comes to choosing the story (if you don't count the side quests ig).
But overall, had a great time with this sequel. Looking forward to the next chapters, potentially even paying for them if Fox releases them for money.

It's not the continuation of the true pacifist ending
I can't believe I seriously needed to point that out (especially considering it's literally the first four words of my post)
I personally consider this a continuation because Kris' character and even appearance are very similar to Frisk's, and it makes sense that Frisk could stay with Toriel given that's a choice you can make at the end of UT. Undyne, Asgore, Toriel, and Alphys work jobs which fit their personalities, interests, and even events from UT, so they haven't changed as characters. The same applies to Sans and Papyrus, but without the "jobs" part. And a couple of scenes from the true pacifist ending credits are actually very similar to some places in DR.
I know this game isn't a true "continuation" because it hasn't developed on any of the already-existing characters, and Frisk is nowhere to be seen. But I feel like the fact that I can still see DR as a continuation ties in to why I think this game is a sequel even by (sarcastic air quotes because I disagree with it) "definition".
You can't really use personal opinion as evidence in an argument so even though the "definition" provided defines deltarune as a sequel your personal opinion cannot be used to support the point

okay but that doesn't make it a completely true fact

Chemist you dont understand that many games hide their lore intentionally
especially in the case of undertale, and definitely with deltarune
but if you want to deny it, back it up
what points are wrong? why are they wrong?
MafiaMenace wrote:you cant just say im wrong because its not confirmed
thats lazy as shit as well as games like these leave stuff out to be put together

I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying you can't have it as 100% truth. You can have it be true in your interpretation, and that's fine, but you can't make other people change because "it's confirmed" when it isn't

the thing is theres evidence towards it being a completely different world as well as it not being real

Completely different world is confirmed iirc, but the evidence doesn't 100% confirm it. For example, the evidence in undertale points to the mysteryman sprite being Gaster, but there's no definitive proof.

Yep Sans is Ness, what a great COMPLETELY INDISPUTABLE FACT.
And I'm just gonna add , dream theories are absolute cancer of the theory community due to their nature. You can say literally anything is a dream and it will become indisputable by design.
Its called Last thursdayism.
Its fucking terrible.
