So... it's a been a full 16 years since the attack on the World Trade Center occurred. What are your thoughts on 9/11, or do you have anything to share?

I went to the 9/11 museum this summer and as an American living in China, I wanted to learn more about the tragedy that had befallen America that morning, not by researching it online, but by having a more genuine experience. It turned out that going to the 9/11 museum was very worth it. I not only got to learn the story of 9/11 but also saw the news reports that was broadcasting that day and the various artifacts salvaged in the aftermath of 9/11. The whole experience was actually quite emotional.

If you legitimately think that every post people makes is a product of them caring about the topic at hand, you are severely misguided.
Part of why shitposting is a concept is because of people make low effort posts they dont really care about for example.

This isn't a lounge thread made for shitposting so I'm going to believe you care about 9/11 or else you wouldn't be here.

Actually I just respond to any threads I see having fun discussions form in since that makes it pop up in my feed.
And all these replies come from my nature of not wanting people to assume I am ignoring them.

Americans say never forget 9/11 because they didn't attack Brazil, or Ireland, or Australia, they attacked America. Chances are most people who aren't American don't really care because it doesn't matter to them. It's not their country, it's not their people that died, it's not their tragedy. It's just something bad that happened. So no, people don't say never forget, Americans say never forget.

I was like 4 or 5 when it happened. I partially remember me sitting at home watching spongebob or something when my nanny (babysitting nanny. Not a grandmother nanny) comes into the room bawling. When I mumble ask her what's wrong, she turns the channel to ABC and we watch the second plane crash and the aftermath. I had a cousin who died in the North Tower.

I was 3 when 9/11 occurred, so I must have been at school. I don't remember what I went through at school when 9/11 happened.

On 9/11/01 a terrorist attack happened where 2 planes (I think) crashed into the twin towers killing thousands of people, forcing some to jump to their death. When the first plane hit people thought it was a terrible accident until the 2nd plane flew in and everyone realized it was a terrorist attack. The news recorded the 2nd plane crashing. You could find it online if you really wanted to see it but what you would be watching is people dying. Which is awful.

I didn't exist when this happened so I don't know all of the details.

A third plane crashed into the Pentagon, and forth plane was hijacked but the passengers regained control. However, the plane was about to crash so the passengers decided to crash it into a field instead of harming other citizens.

By then, all flights from... Boston was it?.... were cancelled.
