That's a good point, but what it came down to was how the author decided to open the book.

I thought it was a terrible opener and basically got booed so bad they banned me from the site. Truly a disgusting display.

How about "Chupacabra meets (Bilito)Billy the Kid" by Rudolfo Anaya?

The book is kind of meta and involves time travel, one of my personal favorite plot devices.

Excelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee by George Mair.

A look behind the scenes at the man who gave us what comics are today, and (somewhat surprisingly) a huge fan of Westerns.

someone may have said this but if you haven't, you should check out the Red Queen series if you like a bit of a darker YA-fantasy-thing

Did not read the entire thread - too long -

But as I can see you are into fantasy and I strongly suggest you to read Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erricson.

I didn't read the entire thread too as it's too long but I'd like to suggest you my all time favorite mystery series: A Series of Unfortunate Events.

BTW, I just discovered that this book series became a Netflix TV series in 2017 so i'll probably watch that soon too.

The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens is a piece of his that I never heard of until last week, but I still recommend it as it has been interesting from what I have read thus far.

1984 and Animal Farm are also good if you're interested in the topic.

The Giver is pretty awesome book.
