The Roguelikes Thread

Postby JazzMusicStops » Sat Feb 20, 2016 1:17 pm

This is a game for discussing roguelike games
Wikipedia wrote:Roguelike is a subgenre of role-playing video games, characterized by a dungeon crawl through procedurally-generated game levels, turn-based gameplay, tile-based graphics, and permanent death of the player-character.

This includes games such as The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth, Spelunky and FTL

I think I'm a closet rougelike fan.

All my steam games are mostly rougelikes.

There is a early access game called Bagante that I've been eyeballing for a long while. I haven't bought it, but I'm waiting for a good sale and some more content to be added to the game to buy.

From what I like about Roguelikes, this game has the basic framework down. Just needs content.

Another Roguelike I've been watching is Duskers more for it's command based gameplay. Not everyone cup of tea, but I like it.

Complicated masterpiece.

Want to try it, though navigating to a home tile is a game within itself. One day I'll devote a day to learning how to play.
