Fishkeeping

Postby SarahSaurus » Fri Feb 19, 2016 2:00 pm

Anyone here into fishkeeping? My boyfriend and I have..well, too many tanks. We have a big 55 gallon that I was raising betta fry in, but now they're almost fully grown so I'm starting to get the tank properly set up and decorated. Right now I'm trying to sift through all the different kinds of aquatic plants and pick a few that I want to use, as well as trying to decide if buying manzanita driftwood is worth the cost (it's so pretty x_x). But yeah, overall we have 12 bettas, 2 Raphael catfish, 1 bristlenose pleco, 9 neon tetras, and a nerite snail.

So anyone else have fish/tanks they want to talk about?

fish are not very smart, they cannot breathe out of water.

Some fish actually can. But no human can breathe underwater.

I don't know all the detailed specifics; just a nice small tank with 8 neon tetra, then someone decided the tank needed water and poured a bucket from the tap. :|

I'd be interested in setting up a larger tank with more maintenance, but perhaps when I'm fully independent. I'd rather not kill more helpless fish.

I have had a variety of fish for my whole life. I have my second big plecko, the fish reproduce with each other, they have a large take, but they're really jumpy to outside noises. We have 5 or something babies recently. I'm not into it perse, but I participate in it.

We once owned a Piranha fish that barley lived for a week. I was terrified of it. We'd sacrifice gold fishes to the holy Piranha every night.

I legitimately had a fish that couldn't swim.

I don't know, don't ask.
