How do I make a potato farm in a really cold area?

Well... first of all you need a potato. And a cold area. And also knowledge about farming. Then you use that knowledge to farm potatoes in the cold area.

Just follow this easy five step process.
Step 1. Find a potato
Step 2. Find cold area
Step 3. Stab the ground with a hoe
Step 4. Throw potato on the ground
Step 5. Bonemeal

I have been a potato farmer for decades on end so this is how it is done.

Step 1: Punch down a tree then make a Crafting table to then craft a Wooden Hoe
Step 2: You have to either find a Village or kill a Zombie in order to obtain a Potato to farm.
Step 3: Go to a snowy area, use your hoe on the dirt which must be near water and then finally...plant your potato!

Voila! You just made a cold potato farm.

Nurture potato
Be potato
Love potato
Fuck potato
Sacrifice your firstborn to potato

The area is 22 degrees cold, I tried all of these but nothing worked. The potato just looked at me and turned away. I tried feeding it baking powder but it rejects me. Now what?
