The most sincere form of flattery?

I usually go by the in-round name "Scarf" when I'm playing ToS, but my actual username is ScarfVendetta. So it was pretty bizarre to say the least when I was playing some Classic and came across another player with the actual username "Scarf" . They also had the same lobby icon as me (Zodiac) and they proceeded to snipe the name Scarf at the start of the round...
It might sound like it could just be a co-incidence, but from chatting to them during the round it definitely seemed like they were trying to make me seem like some kind of fake? I'm assuming this was meant to be some kind of prank or something, but it's crazy to me that I get recognised enough that someone would pay money to buy a new account (or a name-change) just for the memes.
Hopefully they aren't trashing my name or anything
