PUSHING UP THE DAISIES!

As the guests quickly split apart, leaving a smirking Engei alone in the middle of the floor, Charon returns her arrogant smile with a look of pure contempt before he turns to the mirror and claps. Once. Twice. Thrice. Again, for a painfully long moment, nothing happens...then a loud creak echoes around the room and the floor shivers, carpet and wood alike twisting and deforming as it pulls away from the condemned. Her smile falters for just a second, and in that second...the floor opens. She doesn't even have time to scream before disappearing into the vast cavern that has suddenly opened up under her and just as suddenly closes back up. A cough draws the gaze of the remaining guests to the mirror, which now shows another scene: Engei, lying facedown on what looks like grass.

Engei groans as she stands, looking around in confusion, smiling slightly as she realises that she is outside, what looks like a garden. How had she got here? What was the host thinking, putting her in what is essentially her natural environment? The sound of boots crunching on fallen leaves causes her to tense, turning to watch Charon emerge from the darkness, shears ready to defend herself if needed. He doesn't even look at her, instead stopping to examine a bush, a collection of beautiful roses, gently caressing one of the red blooms before leaning forward to sniff at it. Finally he turns, smirking at her.

"The most beautiful of roses hides the most deadly of thorns, and do you not agree that these are particularly beautiful?"

Engei frowns, but before she can demand he explain his words, her eyes are drawn to the rustling leaves of the plant, face twisting in disbelief as the plants start to shift and squirm, stems elongating into writhing vines covered in thorns as long as her forearm, sanguine blooms dripping red as each one opens its petals to reveal hungry maws, chomping at the bit in their eagerness to get at her soft flesh. She yelps as one wraps around her arm and tries to pull her back to the killer plant, but then she comes out of her stupor and remembers: She still has her shears.

Engei swings and snips and tears with her shears, but it does her no good: for every vine she cuts, another three grow in its place, until all around her is a writhing sea of green, adorned in droplets of red on their thorns from where they got too close. Her clothes torn and bloody, it is clear that she is running on fumes, it won't be long before she is overwhelmed by the swarming mass, her frown deepening as tears of pain and rage threaten to overflow but are held back purely by the will to not let her pain be seen. If she is going down, she's going down fighting.

Then the slithering grasping things stop, part and recoil away from her, forming a wall in front of her, gnashing teeth hovering as if in anticipation. She tenses, waiting for the next attack to come...only to scream as something wraps around her legs from behind, wail cut off with a thud as her limbs are pulled out from under her. Flailing, she manages to turn herself over and gapes in horror at what she sees, eyes widening in terror as the vines pull her closer and closer to the mouth of darkness in the ground before her. She scrambles, trying to cut them away with her shears, only for the instrument to be wrenched from her hands as it snaps down on a particular thick vine. Fingers are bent and broken as they struggle for purchase, and with one final scream she disappears into the hole. There is a soft thud as she hits...wood. Not dirt, wood, covered in something soft and white.

She looks up just in time to see the coffin's lid slam down on her, the vines wrapping around her tighter and tighter in some kind of twisted final embrace and she feels the teeth dig into her skin. There is the sound of muffled crunches, screams of agony and scratching of nails on wood, but soon, as dirt is slowly piles up on the grave, the noise fades away to nothing. As if it had never been there in the first place.

And all that is left of the Ultimate Gardener....

A pair of bloody shears, vines wrapped around the blades.

"Hmm....that was a bit messier than I was expecting it to be. Oh well, she's where she belongs now,"

Well.
I hope she won't lose her love to plants after that.
Her love to plants led her to hate from people, but given that that hate won't harm to them, I hope they at least won't lose that love, and, maybe misses plants at other side.
On the bright side, she had no idea about what missing is, so, she will experience it from 1st hand.
