Transporter vs Godfather

Okay, logically if the last two alive are transporter and godfather, the game should end in a draw, the transporter makes the GF attack himself every night. I was just in a game where that happened and mafia won?!?! Why did the game automatically end with the loss of the town when the godfather can't kill the last town member, meaning that the goal of the mafia, which is kill the town, would be a failure. This should be fixed and set so that it automatically ends the game in a draw, or even a win for the town.
I was unsure of where to post this, please move if necessary.

They want to avoid draws as much as possible. Mafia also has a lower win rate compared to the Town, so it's nice to throw them a bone.

Why is avoiding draws a thing?
If it is meant to end in a draw in normal play, let it be a draw.

Due to the fact that mafia has less win rate as shell mentioned, it would be a lot better to decide a winner rather than automatically making it a lose for the less win rate faction, and secondly because majority of people do not like draws.

We are fine with natural draws, but stalemates are no fun. Natural draws are things such as WW vs Vet on alert, Mafioso vs Vig, doused WW vs Arsonist, etc.

I'd prefer a draw over the loss... I'm guessing all the other townies would have agreed

Yeah I got this today and guessed it was a bug. However as the object of the game is for townspeople to hang non-townspeople, I suppose if non-townspeople live then towns lose their objective.
