People shouldn't ask for role cards anyway. There are much better ways to determine if someone's lying.

Like..ask for wills. I know that seems obvious, but I don't see a lot of people do it in games. Whenever you're jailor, you should also ask for wills even when people aren't inherently suspicious. Asking for wills can really help weed out some baddies.

-Some players don't take the time to make fake wills. I met a player once who said she "doesn't believe in fake wills". If someone claims Sheriff, and they don't have any kind of will to give you...Well, they're lying. Simple as that. It isn't as straightforward for some roles, but for any investigative roles, or escort, transporter, etc, people should always have a will.
-Looking at a will lets you check for any mistakes or inconsistencies. Does the person say they investigated the veteran on a night the veteran alerted? Well, it's probably a fake will. If you ask everyone for wills, you can cross-check one person's will with everyone elses, to see if they all match up or not.
-If the person is telling the truth, their will still gives you good information. You may get some nice TI results, or see who was transported when and with who, etc.


And this does not require the use of outside resources like rolecards. I don't like rolecards because they take you out of the game...You're supposed to play the game using the resources of your abilities and your teammates- not outside sources. Plus, anyone is able to look up what the rolecards say, and just read it off from this thread or the wiki or whatever. Some people even memorize some of the rolecard information. Point is, there is no real skill involved in rolecards and it is a cheap mechanic to use. Rolecards are in the game to help players understand what their role does-not so that you can replace real skill and strategy with "read me your attributes".

Added Lionon's google sheets role guide to the OP as this is now a sticky. Its really helpful and accurate, albeit out-dated. I'll work on adding the nee roles to both.

Not at all. I used to have them memorized, but I just use the roles page given.
Also, tell people who do that it's a bad strategy. Anyone can cheat, it does nothing to prove a role, etc. It should rely on the rolelist, possibilities, behavior, and night actions.

This is very helpful! If you see me in game though, and I am an evil role, I definitely wont pull this up....hehe. Pfft. Why would you ever think that.
Why are fun-sized candy bars called fun-sized? There is nothing fun about a candy bar that is 1/8 the size of a normal candy bar.

Hello everyone, i need someone to explain me a a Disguiser role a little bit better. I dont quite understand his ability. I know he pretends to be someone else, but i get really confused when his target dies. And i dont understand how does he has option tu use his ability 3 times?

The disguiser is a role that switches you with the target after they have died. It will only worked on targets that have died that night, and once that is done they will assume that players name, character, and position in the town. Your dead body will appear the next day as the role of the character you just assumed, as you have swapped with them.

You may do that three times, so it's a limited ability.

Lol. I don't think knowing Mafia attributes is ever going to help you in a Town of Salem game.

Although there may be some witch wanting to know if you are mafia, so it might be helpful in some rare cases.

A lot of the role cards don't show up properly for me in game. They tend to be missing lines.

Here, I stole the new disguiser role card from the wiki. Don't have the clickable picture because you know, I stole it from the wiki. *Shrug*
