Has anyone here tried this? I've had success claiming sheriff late into day 2, randomly accusing someone, and getting 1for1'd.

This works - however, it runs the risk of you being believed and your "target" lynched first. You'd likely get executed by jailor the following night - though, executing the executioner early is a bad play for most jailors in the long run anyway, most still do it.

They always hang me first so no biggie

If you're finding it hard to get an exe lynch, I'd recommend either waiting a couple days longer or pressing your claim harder. A godsend for people calling you exe is for someone to call your target "framed" and to double-interrogate.

The success of this strat depends of how many TIs have claimed so far.

In most cases, people ask guiltied people for claims before deciding who gets lynched. In 5/12 cases (assuming jailor outed and townie dead) you may guilty an evil and the evil sometimes will have trouble with a proper defense, getting guiltied. Then, either you're "confirmed" sheriff or scum to jailkill for guiltying GF/WW/arso.

I have tried this strategy, it just doesn't work and gets you in a lot of weird situations.

All the situations that can fuck up this strategy:

1: You get the person lynched and they are town then you get executed by Jailor
2: You get the person lynched and they are Mafia then you become a confirmed Sherrif, Either dieng by Mafia or just staying alive for the whole game for lols
3: You say someone that was jailed and then you get Executed by the Jailor
4: You sound jestery and don't get hung
5: There are two transporters and the game is chaos and no one knows what the fuck is going on
6: You get the person Lynched as either Arsonist or Werewolf and then get hung
7: You get the Person lynched as Serial killer and then become confirmed
8: The target that you accused is Mayor, Jailor (if he hasn't revealed), Retributionist
9: You get roleblocked n1 by consort/escort
10: You get the person lynched and they are Godfather Lmao

Even though most of these situations are really unlikely to happen but at best this strategy is a 25% win rate strategy for Jester which is pretty meh

What you don't want to do as Jester is claim you are an Executioner who already won. Try not to laugh, but some idiot actually did this in a game I played. I was jailor, and since I suspected them of being WW, I executed them. When I saw that they were Jester, I almost died laughing over the idiocy of the claim. If town thinks you are an Executioner who already won, you are either going to be executed by the jailor so you don't betray in late game, or town is just going to leave you alone. YOU WILL NEVER BE LYNCHED BY CLAIMING WON EXE!!!

Those situations happen a lot in my games.

Problem is, the idiot jester decides to target the guy who is always scrolling evil. Then gets killed by maf becuase they dont want a sheriff alive.

Better have a good scum read, and target a townie if this is your best jester strat.

according to my calculations, i won 0% of the time
