The Army is a new evil faction, this faction is aviable in coven gamemodes

This is a faction whose gimmick is to be upgraded over time, but upgrades are independant from each other, unlike the coven


Faction Basics
Spoiler: The faction has acces to a Training Camp, during the day a member of the army can choose to target themselves to train in the camp, this will upgrade their abilities by 1 level, they will be unable to perform their ability that night

Up to 4 members can spawn in this faction

1 member can train at the camp each night, if multiple people try to train, prioritiy will be the same as promotion order

Upgrades are permanent

Only one Army (Killing) role may spawn per game

If a member of the army upgrades while performig their ability, the ability will NOT consider that upgrade until the next night

Each member of the army can be upgraded once, with the exception of general

If a member of the army is roleblocked, they will NOT train at the camp

When the general dies, support roles will promote first.

When a member is promoted to general, the upgrades are NOT lost

A spy will see the visits of the army members

If a member or the army targets themselves due to transporter or witch, they will NOT train but will perform their ability on themselves

Hypnotist can give Captain's and Engineer notifications


Roles

Army (Head)

General
Spoiler: Summary: You are the supreme leader of the army, keeping control of your soldiers

Attack: Basic
Defense: None-Basic
Unique: Yes
Priority: 5

Abilities: Kill a player each night, or train a member of the Army

Attributes: You may not train at the camp or pick up packages, instead you upgrade when a member of the army dies
After 1 upgrade: If someone trains in the camp they will be granted them basic defense and detection immunity for the night.
After 2 upgrades: Your gain roleblock and control immunity
After 3 upgrades: Your attack becomes powerful


Investigative Results:
Sheriff: You cannot find evidence of wrongdoing. Your target seems innocent.
Investigator: Your target could be a Doctor, Disguiser, Serial Killer, Potion Master or General
Consigliere: Your target is the leader of the army. They must be a General!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions:
Wins with Witches
Wins with Survivors
Must kill Town
Must kill Mafia
Must kill Coven
Must kill Serial Killers
Must kill Werewolf
Must Kill Juggernaut
Must kill the Plaguebearer
May spare anyone else

Notifications:
You were killed by the general!

Mechanics:
None

Achievements:

Additional Information:
Training is an indirect visit and thus spy will not see AV on the army, this also means unwillingly targeting an army member will attack them
If less than 4 members spawn, they will be counted as dead members for upgrading purposes
If 2 or more army members die in the same night, general will upgrade once per night till they reach appropiate level


Army (Tactical)

Sniper
Spoiler: Summary: An experienced marskman, who watches others to kill them later

Attack: Basic
Defense: None
Unique: Yes
Priority: 4-5

Abilities: Scout a player's house

Attributes: Whenever you visit someone, they will be marked
You will know who visited your target
After upgrade: you may now attack marked players

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious
Investigator: Your target could be a Lookout, Forger, Juggernaut, Witch/CL, or Sniper
Consigliere: Your target is a marksman working for the army, they must be a Sniper!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: same as the army

Notifications:
You were attacked by the Sniper!

Mechanics:
No immunities

Achievements:

Stalker
Spoiler: Summary: A trained soldier who is skilled hunting down the enemy

Attack: Basic
Defense: None
Unique: Yes
Priority: 5

Abilities: Stalk a player at night

Attributes: Whenever you visit someone, they will be marked
You will learn your target's role
After upgrade: You can attack a previously marked player

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious
Investigator: Your target could be an Investigator, Consigliere, Mayor, Tracker, Plaguebearer or Stalker
Consigliere: Your target is an experienced hunter in the army. They must be a Stalker!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: Same as the other army

Notifications:
You were attacked by the stalker!

Mechanics:
No immunities

Achievements:

Army (Support)

Radio Operator
Spoiler: Summary: You are the communication specialist of the army

Attack: none
Defense: none
Unique: No
Priority: Same as spy

Abilities: Intercept the communications at a player's house

Attributes: You will hear any whispers from and towards your target
After the upgrade: You will also bug and track your target.


Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious
Investigator: Your target could be a Spy, Blackmailer, Jailor, Guardian Angel or Radio Operator
Consigliere: Your target is an expert at communication working for the army. They must be a Radio Operator!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: same as the other army

Notifications:
[Same notifications as spy bug]
Your target visited X

Mechanics:
No immunities

Supplier
Spoiler: Summary: The helper of the army, who can assist in various ways

Attack: none
Defense: none
Unique: No
Priority: 3

Abilities: Request a package at a player's house

Attributes:
The package will stay in that house until a member of the army picks it up or the target dies
Only 1 army member can be upgraded per package
If the target dies, you will pick up the package and upgrade if tou havent already
After being upgraded: You can perform the ability of the jailed/training army member, or visit a player to know which roles visit them

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious
Investigator: Your target could be a Medium, Janitor, Retributionist, Necromancer, Trapper or Supplier
Consigliere: Your target is the army's best assistant, they must be a Supplier!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: same as other army members

Notifications:
Your target died, you picked up the package and upgraded
Your target died, you picked up the package and gave it to [player]
You picked up a package and upgraded.

Mechanics:
No immunities

Achievements:

Additional Information:
You visit a non-army member to request a package at that house, then whichever army member visits that player will pick up the package and upgrade


Captain
Spoiler: Summary: A commander, who orders other people to hide at the trenches

Attack: none
Defense: none
Unique: no
Priority: same as escort/consort

Abilities: Drag a player into the trenches

Attributes: Your target will be efectively roleblocked and given basic defense
Your target will know they were dragged into the trenches
After being upgraded: You now give the normal roleblock notification and no longer give defense to your target

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be a Sheriff, Executioner, Werewolf, Poisoner or Captain
Consigliere: Your target drags others into the trenches, they must be a captain!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: Same as the other army members

Notifications:
You were dragged into the trenches!
You were attacked but someone protected you
Someone occupied your night. You were roleblocked!

Mechanics:
Roleblock immune

Achievements:

Engineer
Spoiler: Summary: A soldier specialized in tactical explosives

Attack: none
Defense: none
Unique: no
Priority: 3

Abilities: Use a grenade on a player

Attributes: You can use a flashbang or concusion grenade
Flashbang prevents targets from getting feedback of their own ability
Concusion makes the player target themselves if they attemp to visit, killing roles will be roleblocked instead
Flashbang grenade has a 1 night cooldown, concusion has a 3 night cooldown
After being upgraded: cooldowns are reduced by 1 night

Investigative Results:
Sheriff: Your target is suspicious!
Investigator: Your target could be a Sheriff, Executioner, Werewolf, Poisoner or Engineer
Consigliere: Your target uses diferent types of grenades. They must be a Engineer!

Goal: Kill anyone who would try to stop the army

Victory Conditions: Same as other Army members

Notifications:
[Concusion] A explosion stoped you at your door!


Mechanics:
No immunities

Achievements:
TBD

Additional Information:
Flashbang: the target will not get any notifications related to their abilities (like sheriff interrogation or doc knowing their target was attacked)
Concusion: if the target tries to leave home, they will visit themselves and not their original target, if they are a killing role they will be roleblocked instead

Notes: I need help with general, do I remove its last upgrade and leave it as a role which can only level up twice?

Also: for games with less than 15 players use use
3*[number of players]/15 to see how much general can upgrade

General seems fine as it is to me.

Stalker feels strictly better than Sniper since not being visited seems more likely than visiting a member of the Army. Maybe if its target stays home Sniper can also mark them?

Having an independent 0.5 KPN seems a little strong though. Maybe you can add an upgrade in between for the AT roles so that they need to waste more nights before getting 0.5 KPN. I would much rather have a role that can achieve 0.5 KPN after a night than a weaker Recon that needs to wait the bulk of the game before hearing whispers. Maybe drop whisper reading to two nights for RO?

Supplier's L2 upgrade should be a little stronger. It should have an ability in its own right bc at that point there wouldn't be many players that need upgrading and that ability should be maybe around the level of a Mafia ability. Maybe consig powers instead?

Captain looks pretty good. Maybe either as part of or instead of the L2 upgrade you can let it target consecutively? That way it can use the main thing that makes Consort useful which is chain roleblocking, but it would take a while to get there.

Engineer is too complicated. Maybe let Flashbang be its base ability and then once it upgrades it can do Smoke's ability simultaneously with Flashbang and eventually Concussion. That might be a bit too strong but I'm not sure.

Overall the roles look pretty good. I'm not a fan of the upgrade mechanic since now you need to balance and test like 3 different abilities for each role but if that's the gimmick you're going with then this is a fairly balanced implementation.

Could be, I am gonna think about that

Is less than 0.5 since you are not guaranteed to mark someone, and since only 1 upgrade is possible, they are most likely the first ones to be promoted
Also what would RO upgrades be in that case?

Stalker already has consig power, how about being able to visit and learn which roles visited their target?

The thing is captain is better than cons since it is immune to LO and prevents investigation

The point of engineer is to be like PM, and mixing all 3 effects would be extremely strong

Changed a few things about engineer, supplier and removed the limit of upgrades per night


I am debating now if I should rework or remove supplier since it changes upgrading speed and is not a guaranteed member
