So... it can still deadlock.
Nah. Just don't let it roleblock unless it executes. Also delete Jail Armor. That'll fix it sufficiently.
Actually think this would go far for balancing jailor.
Alot better then making the jailor role wait around forever lmao.
Jail Armour should be removed that's one thing I entirely agree on and have actually suggested it in the past. No reason why a player should not be able to get targetted after they've left their cells for the night or why an investigator can't snoop around a jailed persons house when hes not there. It always fucks me off when I target someone and it says "Your ability failed because your target was in jail" And it also makes the Jailor an overpowered protector as Mafia often lose a kpn. If they attack a jailed target, they should attack them and they should only be protected by protective roles, not Jailor which is a town killing.
Preparing a cell for the next night isn't waiting around forever. And even with SilverCruzs suggestions it would still be the most powerful role in the game
And it's still stupid that the entire game is balanced around it, but I feel it should be adjusted in increments, not all at once. I believe its most problematic ability is deadlocking, so I believe that getting rid of that is the most important thing, with the required secondary adjustment of also removing its ability to disrupt the Mafia's APN unless it declares an attack. I also believe that "No roleblock except on execution" would also damage the Jailor Meta as long as we have a static Witch because if the Jailor says "im jailor" on Day 1, then the Witch has gained effective Execution Immunity because if the Jailor jails them and declares an attack, they can just control the Jailor onto literally anyone else and survive since Control has higher priority.
Couple that with throwing out Jail Armor (which, I grant contradicts what I said about increments a bit) and you've got a role that can no longer brick wall somebody's efforts, making it actually reasonable to play against.
I'm reminded of the Youtuber "FishStickOnAStick", a moment in one of his videos speaking on Team Fortress 2 conveyed the position "wanting to play "honorably" means I actually care about the experience that my opponents are having in the game.". It is very telling to me that the optimal way to play the current Jailor is to be a
complete jackass. Lest we forget the oh-so-popular "I SHOWED YOU MY ROLE NOW PROTECT ME" mindset.
I know what I'm doing, generally, but I have no grace at all when things start to spin out of control.
I'd like to address the latter part, but I wouldn't know the first thing about that.
