Veteran (Rework)

There are 3 problems with Veteran
1. It is a TK but it kills more Innocents than evils.
2. They are easily confirmable. Once a player dies to veteran and a name shows in their will. Evils will be cautious of that player.
3. ToS is buffing Mafia roles so why don't we buff town roles as well.

So I have a devised a solution to fix all of this.


Role Name - Veteran

Role Alignment - Town (Support/Killing)

Abilities: Decide if you want to scare visitors with gunshots

Attributes - All players that were scared will target themselves instead. You can only do this three times. Your visitors will know that they were scared

Notifications - "You have decided to scare visitors with your gun".
"You were scared by the Veteran you visited"

Goal - Lynch every criminal and evil-doer

Win Conditions - Wins with Town

Special Attributes -
Roleblock and Control immunity when scaring.
Control and Trans immunity to visitors.

Investigator Results -
Sheriff - You have found no evidence of wrongdoing. Your target seems innocent.
Investigator- Your target could be an Vigilante, Veteran, Mafioso or Ambusher
Consigliere- Your target scares people away with his gun. He must be a Veteran.


Achievements -
Win 1 games as a Veteran
Win 5 games as a Veteran
Win 10 games as a Veteran
Win 25 games as a Veteran
No, you shut up- Make the Blackmailer blackmail itself
Frightened Mob- Make the Mafioso target themselves
A powerful attack meets an invincible defense - Make the Pestilence target themselves
Whoops - Kill yourself by making Arsonist ignite doused targets


Additional Information -
Your scare will triumph over Witch's Control.
When Doctor and Survivor visit Veteran, they will heal/vest themselves but won't consume their current self heal/vest
BG will stay home and kill harmful visits (if any) and will die from the process.
Mafioso and Vigilante will kill themselves.
GF and Sk will attack themselves but won't die.
Werewolf will kill itself and all of its visitors.
Arsonist will ignite doused targets.
Pestilence will stay home and kill all its visitors.
This role is targeted more into Random Mafia (Blackmailer, Hypnotist, Framer) because this role affects them more than Mafia killing.

This all depends on how well players can play veteran. Even though it kills more innocent than evils, they'll need to be cautious with their abilities or accept the sacrifice. Either way, killing innocents isn't a problem as long as it is beneficial for Town if played correctly

The cost of being confirmed is that they would need to sacrifice a townie, which may overall reduce the utility of the role. Even if Evils are cautious of the veteran, they still need to kill them at some point. This encourages a game of "chicken" between the Veteran and Mafia/NK, and very strategical planning will be necessary.

We're buffing Mafia roles because those roles are underpowered and the entire faction is extremely weak. Town doesn't need a buff, it's already OP as hell(Jailor, Mayor, Transporter, Medium, etc).

You have some points, but I agree in what cob says, this will be even more easy to confirm since the player that visits you wont die, and while this reduces the potential of killing townies, this is more a nerf since vet can no longer kill NKs, GF, witch, vamps, etc

This 'reflector' sounds like an OK role, but I wouldn't want to replace Veteran with it. Veteran is OK the way it is.

Maybe Veteran should get the option to visit another player, shooting all of their visitors with a powerful attack.

Thats imposible, if ww targets themselves they rampage at home

Arsonist will ignite doused targets

This is also imposible, if arso unwillingly targets themselves, they douses themselves instead of igniting
