I like silent transports but not for vanilla Transporter. I agree that it should be Town Support though.
However I'm fine with one self-transport but I wouldn't be opposed to them having none. Also I'm fine with them only redirecting attacks.
The issue is Transporter is meant to be a high skilled role, when you compare it to something like
Doctor/
Bodyguard it can do both their jobs at the same time (protecting & punishing killers) The issue is making transporter transport only killing actions leaves it so Transporter isn't punished for using their action without thought, Transporter is balanced by being high risk and high reward.
One-Self transport is already too many, Transporter's are already strong enough. Scum should have a easy enough time getting rid of a outed transporter due to how much more they can mess with scum over most roles.
I think the major issue scum has in the late game is that by random chance you're either going to have a tough time dealing with some townies or not, Transporter is clearly one of the most powerful roles, I'd actually say it's the 2nd most powerful role even above Mayor. I think we need to have significant changes to it so it's a mid-tier power level role like most town roles (Doc, Escort, BG, Invest, Sheriff ect). The main issue with balance is that a lot of roles are way too strong, Transporter, LO, or Mayor or way too niche/useless such as Medium, Hypnotist, Jester or Framer or
frustrating to play against like Transporter, Spy, Psychic or Vampires.
I think Transporter in it's current state is insane, but at the same time it wouldn't be great to just completely remove its swapping functionality and call it a TP that switches deaths, No the
core two issues are it's instant confirmability and it's self transportation, those both need to go entirely and it will be pretty balanced, hell it would still be stronger then roles like escort.
