If you lie about your town/scumread then that wouldn't help the popcorn man to shoot scum since you're giving them incorrect opinions which they may act on and end up shooting someone you actually townread
If you lie about something else then i don't feel like it'd be enough to throw scum off since you're lying about something that is, in the grand scheme of thing, insignificant (e.g. confidence level, like that doesn't really matter significantly)
