For the best ones, skip to Priest, Clairvoyant, and Gumshoe, but the others should be fairly decent too.
Mafia:
Spoiler:
Capodecina
You are the Capodecina.
Your alignment is Mafia Head.
You are the powerful second-in-command for the Mafia, arranging kills for the Godfather. However, you made a new plan to overthrow Salem, by sabotaging the town's votes for execution! It truly is a marvelous plan, but will it work?
Once during day 2, you may contact the Moderator to alter the lynch onto a target.
After the majority of votes are reached, or the day time runs out, your target will be automatically lynched.
Your target may not be a Town Power role, and you will be notified by a moderator if you attempt to do so.
You may not alter the lynch if the town has the majority by two people or less.
You are night immune.
You are sheriff immune night 1.

Clairvoyant
You are a Clairvoyant.
Your alignment is Mafia Tactical.
You were a powerful Necromancer a long time ago, uniting the living and the dead. However, when the Mafia was forming, you wanted in on it, providing to the Mafia with your unworldly power. Now, you're a second-hand, bringing the Mafia together more than ever before!
Whenever you are alive, the dead Mafia members may speak in the Mafia chat.
However, the Mafia members may not use their abilities.
Also, once, during the day, you may choose to channel your energy. That night, all Mafia may use their abilities or kill . There can only be one killer however.

"This is dope." - Scraf
Pyrotechnic
You are a Pyrotechnic.
Your alignment is Mafia Deception.
Explosions, explosions. That's all you've wanted in life. You attempted to share your love for them with others, but they ran in fear, or tried to fight you. If the town didn't respect your craft, maybe the Mafia would.
Each night, you may place fireworks in one person's house.
All visitors will receive no feedback whatsoever.
(Note: Feedback includes immunity, investigation results, protection feedback, failed transportation, and form of death in PM)
You win with the Mafia

Kind of uses the Forger/Janitor relationship but with Prankster/Consort to this. This could work well.
Shadow
You are a Shadow.
Your alignment is Mafia Support.
You've loomed among the town for quite some time, learning everything about them. Their weaknesses, their strengths, their opinions, and even their love life. You have found these people disgusting, and you joined the Mafia in order to find an enjoyable life.
Each night you may choose to become a player's shadow. Your presence scares one townsperson from targeting them.
You will only be informed if you scare away a role who had killing intentions.
Should your target be visited by multiple people with malicious intent, only one will flee. (Investigatives > Witch/Escort/Consort > Protective Roles > Killing Roles)
Roles that use charges will still consume them upon being frightened off.
You may not target another Mafia member.

Town:
Spoiler:
Timelord
You are the Timelord.
Your alignment is Town Power.
You are an adventurer from the future, seeking the mysteries of the past. Coming back to Salem, you learned to love it, and became a popular leader. The Mafia started showing up in the town, preventing piece and happiness. You have to use your abilities to save the town you love!
You are unique.
During the day, you may PM the moderator to time travel.
The town will gain an extra 48 hours after the lynch to discuss and get another lynch in.
You can only time travel once.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers

This seems similar to Lawyer, but it's about as similar to Lawyer as FM Disguiser is to Framer.
Priest
You are a Priest.
Your alignment is Town Killing.
You work at the local Church, allowing practice of many religions in your shared home. However, the Mafia barged into the town, and started killing off town members. All you could do is pray, but would praying have any affect?
Each night, you may pray for somebody.
If the person is killed, they will be able to kill one person beyond the grave that night, piercing immunity.
You may not pray for yourself.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
This is the original Priest. It's more powerful, and still can be relatively easy to claim.
Vendor
You are a Vendor.
Your alignment is Town Protective.
You have lived in Salem for your entire life, making money off of selling countless items. However, since the new amount of attacks in Salem, everybody wants to purchase a vest to keep them safe. You have to sell your vests before the Mafia kill all your customers, or yourself!
Each phase, you may sell someone a bulletproof vest. Your target will not be informed of this.
You can go on a sales run and give everyone who has purchased a vest the vest they ordered.
The vest is only effective for that night only though!
You may not sell a vest to yourself.
Only five people can purchase vests at a time.
You may instead manually vest yourself once per game.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
A Town Protective Arsonist. It's received good feedback for normal ToS, so why not bring it over? Also, this makes a good use of the Prankster result "Your bulletproof vest saved you!"
Postmaster
You are a Postmaster.
Your alignment is Town Support.
You have been a mailman all your life, and recently you've become the town's postmaster, publicly posting anonymous messages for the whole town to see. However, your job can support anyone if everyone has this power, so you decide to restrict access to the town's public message board.
Each phase, you may give somebody a letter.
At any time during any day, a person with a letter may post a 200 character anonymous message publicly to the town.
You may not give a letter to yourself.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
Later in the game, scum can post anonymous messages to the town, which could have different affects depending on what's said, especially if a Stalker reaches that point. With an overflow of people with letters, the postmaster just has a vague idea, but then again, he has some idea. Also, anonymous messages can be used for the town for different reasons, to get attention, to have freedom of speech without being judged, to hardclaim to determine what's in a rolelist slot, etc.
Interrogator
You are an Interrogator.
Your alignment is Town Investigative.
You were the Sheriff's Deputy, forcing truth out of evildoers' mouths, and you became so good at your job, you abandon the Sheriff to complete all of your given jobs without his help.
Each night, you may select a target, and ask three role-related questions. (Ex: Are you a Serial Killer? Are you an Escort?)
The mod will answer if one or none of the answers are correct for that target.
If the target is framed, the results will be yes if the question regards scum roles, and no if it regards town. This will be to the mod's discretion.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
This can be fairly useless, or extremely powerful if the questions are asked properly.
Angel
You are an Angel.
Your alignment is Town Support
You descended from the heavens, sent to protect Salem in it's most desperate hour. You must use your magical abilities to support the town by supporting peoples' lives.
Each night, you may support one player's life.
If your target is attacked, you and the target will be notified of this.
The supported player will die exactly one day later to the original attacker.
Nothing can save the player from this.
The supported player may speak to the dead freely after being attacked.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches

Medoctor could be cool for confirming Mediums, Retributionists, gaining info, etc.
Desperado
You are the Desperado.
Your alignment is Town Power
You were once a criminal, blowing up houses and stealing their goods. You made a bomb to blow up the whole town, but the Mafia started stealing your loot. Now, you want to show everyone you're the true leader of this town!
You are unique.
Each night you may attach a fuse to one person.
If that person is attacked, the violence of the event triggers the fuse.
Once the fuse is triggered, a warning is sent to the Town that a fuse has gone off.
You are unable to be jailed, protected, transported, or watched. Anyone attempting to will either be given false feedback or will be notified their action failed.
You also require three less votes to lynch once the bomb has gone off.
After 3 following nights, the bomb will detonate, killing everybody in the town while you hide in your shelter.
The only way to defuse the bomb is to kill the Desperado first.
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists

You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
Town Bomber would be really fun for the scum to hunt down, and with a Bomber claim, that would be fun.
Pilot
You are a Pilot.
Your alignment is Town Killing.
Building and flying airplanes for the town's pleasure, you have had a great life. When the Mafia invaded Salem, you thought of a plan about how you could use your skills to help the town! The results would not be pretty, but you had to do it for the town.
Each day phase, you may choose three, no more, no less, people to join you in your airplane.
That night, all of you will get night chat, with you being anonymous.
If we use quicktopic: Nobody may see the previous chat, and nobody may speak anonymously except for the Pilot.
You can choose to kamikaze and kill everyone in the airplane, including yourself.
Nothing can save anyone from this form of death.
If someone in the group is jailed, the whole group will be notified "someone is missing."
You win with the Town
You win with Survivors
You must kill the Mafia
You must kill Witches
You must kill Arsonists
You must kill Serial Killers
You must kill Bombers
You must kill Stalkers
You may spare anyone else.
Fun little twist on Jailor, and I like it. This doesn't roleblock, but you can mass murder, costing your own life. I think it could be fun to play around with as well.
Transporter Edit - Silent Transportation
The Transporter is so easily confirmable, and people can say the three magic words to sort out Investigative issues, alert protectives, and explain a few other things. The magical words are "I was transported." Now, it's less confirmable, but can still be done. Prankster is not an excuse. One or three transports isn't solid enough to confirm a claim.
Neutral:
Spoiler:
Surgeon
You are a Surgeon.
Your alignment is Neutral Benign.
Once the well-known Doctor of a far away city, you moved to Salem to retire and live the rest of your life in peace. Now, with all of the invaders, you need more money to purchase vests to protect yourself. You offer town members your services so you can get the money needed to live.
Each night, you may heal one person.
If the heal is successful, you will be notified they were healed, and you will gain a vest.
The victim and attacker, however, will not be notified they were healed.
You have one vest from the start of the game.
However, you may not vote when you attempt to heal.
Whoever you successfully/attempted to heal will get a second vote.
You win if you survive to the end of the game.

Based off of my "creative" Parvenu, but I simplified it and made it work for FM.
Gravedigger
You are a Gravedigger.
Your alignment is Neutral Evil.
You were abandon by the town, forced to work in the Graveyard, keeping it clean. You were lonely for years, and lived in a self-made house. You hardly made any money, and barely survived. Now, you've decided to take revenge on the town by using your skills, and showing them the pain you were given!
Every day phase, you may select the role of a body that died the previous night.
That night, you may use that role's abilities.
You may not use the abilities of a Phantom, Shade, Double, Retributionist, Jailor, or Mayor.
You will not gain the ability to talk to other Mafia members.
You cannot become night immune unless the role has a manual or automatic vest.
You cannot die of guilt when using a Vigilante's ability.
You win if you survive to the end of the game, and the Town loses.
You win with Gravediggers
You win with the Mafia
You win with Arsonists
You win with Serial Killers
You win with Stalkers
You win with Survivors
You win with Witches

A similar role, Necromancer, was very popular, but relies on game length. My role didn't rely on length, and was nerfed properly, so it can be played as here.
Gumshoe
You are a Gumshoe.
Your alignment is Neutral Benign.
You were a brilliant detective in a neighboring town. However, the Town, Mafia, and some various others asked for your skills in order to help them. Torn, you didn't decide on any of them, but came to Salem to apologize. Finally realizing their situation, you needed to help someone, but whom?
Each night, you may investigate someone for a clue to their role.
If the person is Framed or Disguised however, they may not reveal their true results.
If someone you have investigated in the past gets lynched, you win if the first lynched person's alignment loses.
Double whyyy. You took the original color. Anyways, a Neutral Investigative normally won't work, but this way, it can support anything when it pleases. If it supports scum, woo, freelo while the town wastes a day lynching you. If you support town, great. Remember though, it can always flip flop on you.
Engineer
You are an Engineer.
Your alignment is Neutral Evil.
You've had the job of making cars for the town your entire life. The Mayor bought your most expensive car, but he never payed for it. He denied buying the car when you asked him for the money. Now, you've sworn vengeance on the town!
Every night you may transport two people.
The two people will be notified that they were transported.
Any actions against the two people will be swapped. This includes investigations, killings, and being controlled by a witch.
You may transport yourself.
You are immune to roleblocks and being controlled by a witch.
You win with Engineers
You win with the Mafia
You win with Arsonists
You win with Serial Killers
You win with Stalkers
You win with Survivors

No description provided. Just pure thumbs up.
Huntsman
You are a Huntsman.
Your alignment is Neutral Killing.
You once roamed the forests near Salem, depleting them of life, shooting every animal you come across. Since hunting is your passion, and there is nothing left to hunt, you wondered what it would be like to hunt humans. You find humans to finally be a challenge, and you have to outsmart them with deception.
Each night, you may place a trap in someone's house.
If anyone visits that house, all visitors and the target will be killed through immunity, and the trap you place will be ineffective.
If a trap hasn't gone off in two nights, the trap will just kill the person themselves.
Once 1/4 of the game's population has died, you may instead choose to pull out your gun and kill someone normally.
You may place a trap at your own house.
You are immune to being trapped.
You are night immune.
