Far as I know this has never been a real issue on any of the mafia sites that use the standard red-green color scheme. Communities should not change their traditions merely because someone somewhere might hypothetically have a problem with them.

Considering all traffic lights are Go for the top and Stop for the bottom (well in australia anyway), I am sure that colourblind people go off that and not the colours so that is not comparable here.

I feel like if this is a matter of concern, you can always ask the mod hosting the game in question; they should be more than happy to answer your queries

Its really too bad this has never been done before, would really render this problem obsolete

Sure that could work in normal games, in themed games it's annoying
Clave Clary Fairchild is clunky outside of just Clary Fairchild

KICKER
If you think reading is going to solve it, well in the recent GIM someone thought I was town as a day-vig Neutral Evil because my role revealed as a slightly darker green. So maybe that helps add to my point that people generally skim more than you realise.

If only there were some contextual way to identify what color a person's role is displayed as.

Solution:
Add a COLORBLIND SETTING, this will allow normal players to see normally, and will also accommodate to colorblind people

Gray for neutrals, One color for town, One color for mafia. Multiball/SFMs are up to host judgement.

I've done it in all my themed games in recent memory and its been completely fine
and idk chief that sounds more like a player problem than a colourblind problem to me

Dolphina's guide to town colors. (from what I've gathered, feel free to correct me.)

Why are we considering changing Town's color?

So Forum Mafia can be accessible to more people. Certain types of colorblindness can't tell Townies and Mafia members apart in the graveyard, so they have a harder time.

Do I have to put the different colors in my FM game?

No, but you may put them in if you wish.

What should I do if I'm colorblind?

Ask the host of the game to change the colors to suit your colorblindness, or group the alignment with the role in the graveyard/on your rolecard. If the host says no, sorry bud. Host's word is final.

The council has decided it's not particularly an issue for any users, and that there's no need to make any changes here

We also ended up in a strange conversation where I ended up wanting to designate town with italics, mafia with bold, and neutrals with underline

I mean this can be partially implemented a colorblind person may ask the mod of the game to send any results/pms with a colorblind filter

I think it's probably simpler is we just clarify in the flips that the person was a member of the town/mafia/neutrals, and also put the alignments in the graveyard. Same goes for alignment flip-only games, and it's not a concern in role flip-only games.

I agree.

I think the original colors can stay, but alignments should be included on flips and on the graveyard (and other instances where alignment is known).
