I'm just getting my feels for the game, Rick. I'm calling out what I'd call suspicious, either seriously or jokingly. I don't make it obvious when I'm joking or being serious. I guess this is my pokerface.

I was tricked into this. I thought I had a fool-proof way out by saying I'd only join if Guzame joined.

My understanding was, Guzame only said he would join if I did. Well, I did, and from there things only snowballed.

Obi, I still read Gent as being Gent. I would probably be scum reading him if he didn't open the way he did today, but the fact that he did open like that doesn't earn him a Town Read in my books, it just gives me a reason not to Scum read him. It's still NAI for me right now.

Naru, I think I get it? I guess? Like if you see how Gent plays his games, this is how he usually approaches as Town. Because he's a good player and whatnot I assume he knows we'll meta read him and point out weird stuff he doesn't nornally do.

That's why I don't really want to drop a TR on him yet, this is the kind of thing you want to wait and see on after Night 1. It's why I also don't understand why Obi keeps pushing his TR of Gent either.

I don't expect Gent to care about anything meta related. The ocerwhelming majority of people in this list don t play mafia, don't have a large experience with gent, and aren't what gent perceives as a threat. I also think Gent is genuinely not invested enough to do that. What makes you think otherwise? Was it his banana post, that one was very telling.

I'm not sure I agree with the overwhelming majority bit, I mean, just rough counting off the top of my head I'd say at least half of us are fairly invested in Mafia and are at least somewhat familiar with Gent where he might care enough to try to behave as he would normally. No post in particular really stands out on its own to support this idea, but then again, that's just how I imagine Gent would be comfortable. When I think of what Gent would do to intro himself into a game, he pretty much delivered exactly what I expected.

Although I also kind of feel your "not invested" bit hits true in a certain way too, but twisted and applied to pretty much everyone (other than Rock apparently) as a lot of us seem to just be going with the flow of Day 1 and everyone might be less serious as a result.

Honestly Met you would probably have a better read of Gent than I ever could anyway, but he hasn't really surprised me so far.

Oh, I missed this.

It's more like if a person doesn't open in a way I would expect them to, my default instinct is to not NAI read them. I've never really had an ability to look at people as being explicitly Town right from their first posts, and especially on a D1 no lynch.

It's not Gent in particular, I look at anyone funny who doesn't behave in a way I'd expect to them as per meta read.

I had to skim but, it seems like semantics looking into what other people think of Obi for now because really nobody has evidence of leaning one way or the other regardless.

Gent is Town, not for Obi's reason but because Gent is self resolving so I'm not spending any effort on tackling him until later.


I think all but 2 people match at least one of the things I said.

The travelers found themselves in Grandport, the city of Commerce by midafternoon. The group split up to take advantage of all the great deals and met back in the tavern in the evening for a more serious discussion.

Welp, time to actually start and not be labeled crazy.

I slept peacefully and I find TrueGent to be an interesting person to pick as a N1 target. I assume the kill is by the mafia and the neutral is likely some sort of support for the mafia unless anyone says something pointing to the contrary. I guess if the Mafia had a 13 - 1 odds of him being an ally and took the risk? He was one of the more active players too which shows some gusto in the killing considering there were way more quiet players to pick.

On another note, the music is too happy about finding a corpse in a camp.

I'm looking at the death note, trying to think of who'd leave a message like that. It's got a surprising amount of personality to it, especially with a Lenny face of all things. It's not something I'd expect a lot of players to use. But then again, it could be done on purpose to make the more "memey" players look suspicious?

It's probably not worth it to pursue that line of thinking for now.

What's interesting about that death note is I would think that Gent would be the one that would leave it. Or maybe Arc.

Did I miss a memo or are some of us not going by the age old slept peacefully thing in our first posts of the day anymore?

And as for the deathnote, it looks purposefully misspelled and memey so using that is super off the table since anyone can make a deathnote look like that. The presence of it says more than the substance I say. Considering you never need to leave a death note in Mafia ever which I would assume people would do if they're fairly inexperienced. This points to one or more people that know what they're doing in the mafia with the kill and the DN even existing.

Actually Guzame, I think it'd be at least worth establishing some kind of basis for this at least, even if it leads no where at the moment. Even if they're vague suspicions, it'd still be worth starting building the foundation.
