Issue with that is the sheriff is easier to fake then an investigator, where they have more to say on a person rather then "He's guilty".
For the sake of finding things, sheriff is good. Bequeathing that knowledge, on the other hand, may not be as good.
Though I guess we'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

what's with the sudden interest in what a TI would do? i think we all know that with last wills not in play, most people here wouldn't know what to do with investigator results. if anything, we should talk about how most of us aren't productive members of society without being able to shitpost memes in privacy with a mod.
