Hence why I'm asking now. Day 1 can be used for both comedy and productivity, but it's wasted if no one's talking at all.

It's especially nice to deal with any controversial topics (like people's stances on No Lynching) before deaths start flipping. That way, we know where people stand objectively about certain things, so that there's some sort of foundation for the events of Day 2.

But even then- ANY amount of discussion helps us get a sense of direction and a way to break the ice tomorrow. The fact that the game has been open for several hours and now we're only JUST on the second day kinda frightens me a bit.

Okay, but discussion like THIS doesn't help. Please don't post if you just plan on having a roundabout way of saying nothing at all. It doesn't add anything we can really work with. Even if you want to just joke around, try to leave some sort or remark or comment we can use to build on an idea, or reject it.

But talking about something like how no one's posting is just going to underline how no one's talking. You don't even leave a door open to discuss something new, other than something that's already on everyone else's mind.

It's been quiet all day really, which is why I was surprised. However I do like the conversation starter there so why not kick it off

For the topic of no-lynching. As this is a NFM and not a normal standard, or even non-standard semi-bastard game, there are a bit of different rules that apply. From what I have seen and understand, and base my personal opinion on mind you, no lynching is generally a bad idea. There is plenty of time to discuss and formulate plans and reads to make a call one way or the other. However with this being a NFM instead with a much more restricted role list and player count that changes things enough to the point that no-lynching, if only for day 2, is a viable option. Granted not one to be taken as the easy way out and one that should be avoided if possible it is still technically a possibility and one that can go well if planned out right. I'll let the others speak for themselves on this matter but that is my opinion.

A question I want to ask is, well rather a few of them, is 1. How do you go about formulating reads? What are generally "tells" one would normally look for. and then 2. How important would you all as the ICs put Metagaming here in FM? I have heard a lot of arguments and discussions for it both ways, for and against, and can see both ends of the argument but more opinions always helps

The most effective use of a no lynch, in my opinion, is when there is a decent list of suspects (3 or longer), and the arguments to lynch those players are interpretive at best. Meaning, these players have done things that are questionable, so we lynch them for being questionable people. And out of the list of suspects, they happened to be the MOST questionable person.

Mafia has a Day Chat. Believe me when I say that it is not difficult to turn our attention toward the scummiest looking Town player.

So I'm generally against not lynching until I get a sense that my strings are being pulled. But this can happen more often than you might think.

See: NFM 10. We didn't lynch Munch, or Retral, or Chubby. Two of these suspects were Town- the prime suspect was Lookout. Had we killed Munch, we would have lost the Lookout, and we probably wouldn't have had a solid grasp of Scum without an Investigative role.

Odds are we would have lost NFM 10 without Munch, so No Lynch has its uses.
Other ICs are more likely to disagree with me, but I think I've proved as much before.

The bigger the list of suspects the larger the margin for error, so that does make sense. Odds are they wont all be scummy and dependent on the claims at the given time, if applicable, the resulting lost roll could be detrimental to overall win/loss. Something I would not have thought about, hooray for learning!

Also if I die first for being inquisitive, I blame you Rick :lol:

If the Town is very uncertain on which players are scum and they aren't too sure who to lynch, I feel like not lynching wouldn't be that bad.

However, if somebody votes for a no-lynch, it is just stupid.

Even if you do not want to lynch for the day, you can at least use that time to discuss and get more reads out of people. There is not much point immediately changing it to night time, where you are just hoping for the TI to find the Mafia.
Sometimes it's nice to just watch the world BURN.

Hmm I thought the game was for the players that didn't have much experience with the forum mafia game but as I understand it there are exceptions for some experienced players to help out the new people?

Lets say the TP(town protective) dies N1, and im an investigator, i find out someone is witch/disg, should i reveal myself for a lynch or just shut up and wait?
(P/S this isn't a soft or hard claim damn it.)

Um, so, in this hypothetical (where you're definitely not Investigator), you should remember that there are also two Random Town role slots and a(nother) BodyGuard can still exist even if one Town Protective is dead.

So no, you shouldn't reveal.

What is the general protocol for last wills? Does it vary from role to role or is it about as similar to a regular ToS game with a general outline to follow?

If you get a visiting role/power role you set out your will basically the same as TOS (n1-,n2-) however if you are a non-visiting role you put down your reads and who you think are scum. You should basically put down your reads for both types of roles though imo.

Allo my fellow peoples.
I was very busy until now just finished some super important exams. No clue how I did on them but I just got english exam on monday evening left which is gonna be super easy since its my second language but the internet has taught me well. (I guess.)

I now have time to spare beside my praying to Jesus for good grades on them.

I'm pretty nooby at the whole forum mafia thing, I'm in another mafia game (CFM15). I don't mind if you compare my gameplay from that one to this game as that's more than a fair thing to do and I've got some slight character sketches of people I've read previous games of as well.

Rick is so friendly and helpful ;-;

@Trusty Talking about ongoing games is against the rules. Ended games are fair game, though.
