Regarding Hip, there could be as many as:
3 Mafia Deception Members
2 Mafia Tactical members
2 Mafia Support members
The combinations of this otherwise make it impossible to roll more of Tactical or Support. I'm a bit more grateful about the Support concept, though, because the dreaded trio of Consort-Consigliere-Janitor isn't possible to roll.
That being said, Janitors are still something to keep in mind. I'm kinda shocked that NFM 2 was the only Mafia to have one, and how NFM 8 was so role claim focused- frankly, if my Mafia had a Janitor back then, we probably would have taken the game much more easily by storm.
Technetium wrote:The chance of a Janitor in this game is around (But not exactly, due to Mafioso being unique) 1 in 3. The probability is that we won't have one, but the chance of it is well worth considering. Anyway, I'm going to bed soon. I'll be back in the morning my time.
It's decently better. I think it's closer to the scope of 2 in 5, but the exact mathematical proof escapes my mind currently.
Maybe this Night Phase, everyone should go to bed considering a cleaning. The usual play the Town can rely on in games is knowing the role flip of the dead player in the morning, and then trying to use that information to help process of elimination. If we can still do that, then great, but in case we can't, I'd like everyone to be advised to consider a way of going forward if we can't bang back on death flips.I'm shocked NFM players haven't been able to discuss this problem more often, and I don't trust NFM 2 Town all that much- seeing as how they were generally slaughtered. We'll need to be a bit more innovative about things if this is what we could be up against.
Anyway- everyone, please try to have a general idea of how to proceed if we wake up tomorrow to a cleaned body.

They should probably claim Citizen if they need to claim and the Witch is still alive. No matter what role they are, Vigilante or Veteran, if the Witch knows who the Town Killing is then the Witch has control over who they kill to an extent. Obviously they can't fully control when the Veteran alerts but they can still send confirmed Town to the Veteran preventing them from alerting.
The only time the Town Killing should ever reveal is 1 after the Witch has died, or 2 a very dire situation where they are about to be lynched and even then is a very bad time to claim Town Killing.
I basically agree with all of this. Town Killings have a way of proving themselves via a death note, and we've already establishing that hard claiming isn't a real defense, so basically
/support the above.ZSSDistortion wrote:I'm not Hip, however basically D1 has been people checking in and discussing tactics for FM with IC's. However the D1 posts should help people to form reads on people easier on D2 for the majority of people. Also 3 people haven't posted anything as far as I'm concerned so it could be a bit tough for them if they begin posting D2 since they will have more pressure on them to act like a Town player. Either that, or a replacement is coming their way.
As for tonight, I expect an IC to be killed by the Mafia based on other FM games I've seen. However Mafia also could have a player who contributes often like you killed to diminish the Towns usefulness as the more pro-town players are killed off to confuse the Town more, and maybe even cause a mislynch to happen. I'm unsure about the Witch however, though I see them going after people who seem to be playing decently could be targeted. However we'll just need to wait and see what happens.
Azamelto basically had a post saying "really sleepy" and "sorry if I stall like a car".
Alyxie feels like she failed basic test preparation skills.
BigARod is the only player to not post anything at all.
I think as long as there isn't at least 8 pages in the thread (and this is super small compared to most normal FM games), we should avoid building any actual reads lists of players, or even not do it at all, if only because there really isn't enough to go on to judge people. It's also a really easy way for scum players to attempt to dip for Town credibility, and my patience is honestly really starting to wear thin to it as a result.
Also, about Mafia attacks- when I was Mafia, I attacked a new player purely because they were acting shifty, in my eyes, too shifty to be a Citizen. I'm actually very receptive to killing shifty players, because you should be trying to avoid catching attention of that sort. Ironically, the more suspicious and avoidant you seem to the Mafia, the better idea they'll have of who you are. There are inactive Citizens, but quiet shitposters are a whole different level. (We were still right about the new player being shifty by the way, but it turned out they were the Witch
)
I usually recommend against taking Day 1 into consideration too seriously. Yes, look at it, especially when you need to look for association tells, but scum reads for Day 1 don't usually work. It's a day where people relax, play around, get to meet each other. Which isn't a bad thing either. But generally people kick their asses into gear once someone dies and someone can be lynched, so today is more about introduction rather than actual scum hunting.
You kinda need someone to die and other things to start happening before applying any kind of context to that introduction.
