I think we are split between both endings, the Pacifist represents the Pacifist ending, effectively the good guys. Genocide is the bad ending where you murder everyone, so basically the bad guys. Two timelines. Two factions. I am curious which faction Frisk is in. Most likely neutral.

I wonder if this game has a hidden mechanic like in the Undertale game where you can spare everyone and nobody dies, but seeing how this is forum mafia I doubt it.

i legitimately think youre scum though. this question is just throwing shade on people while holding your own rolecard close to your chest. everyone else is discussing information and revealing small parts of their rolecard, while youre asking questions which make me think youre trying to appear town while avoiding having to give out information.

theres a sort of skeptical tone that you have which exemplifies this.

Okay.
The game has multiple endings, with 2 major ones in mind.
Pacifist
Genocide
Neutral
The game has a combat system, but you don't need to kill any of the creatures to proceed through the game, leading to two of the major endings as I stated.
There's also other little things in the game, such as a few of the in-game characters can meta the player, and there's other things like a hacker detection system/ending and little mini-endings with each one of those three.

Undertale's lore can mean multiple things, depending on the story you take. The Fallen Child is clearly evil in the Genocide ending, but their revival and evil was because you allowed them to come back to life, and your own actions enabled them, in certain fan interpretations.

Flowey, in most endings, is evil. However, in the True Ending, he's the force that frees the Underground into the surface world.

Sans mostly does nothing, unless you have a bad time. He could be Citizen, PGO, or maybe even some kind of Neutral Killer from the player perspective.

If the game has multiple endings and multiple outcomes, could there be the possibility that every character would have both a good, evil, and neutral version of themselves in other timelines?
If that assumption of mine is correct I don't think we can assume someones alignment based on their name. Because if that is the case every name can be good, neutral, or evil.

For people who played: If that is wrong and every character has a set response no matter the timeline can you say it.

So basically there is no definite role at all. Considering that there are so many endings, and so many roles the characters take according to your playstyle.

Sans could also be a neutral evil like role as in the game they show the abilities to meta game the player, teleportation, and to stop time. The other npcs also indicate that San and his brother cause things to be "interesting".
And probably some others I'm forgetting.
