I think there should be two tutorials for newer players; Town and Mafia. At the moment, you pretty much have to teach yourself how to play, and there's many people who can't even do this that well. I think adding tutorials, similar to what Throne of Lies has could help newcomers understand the game better.
Tutorials would have pre-generated text and bots playing. For Town, the tutorial would each you how to play one role of each sub-alignment. Sheriff, Doctor, Vigilante, and Escort. Wills would be premade; they would have the player's name and their role listed, along with the nights and a list of numbers up to 15 to represent the other players and their claims.
Before the 'game' starts, the player should be introduced to their will, and be taught how they should write down what they do each night, their results, and the claims of each player. During the night phase, the role of their ability will be explained, and it will tell them how and who they should use it on(ex: as a sheriff, you should interrogate players that seem suspicious or quiet). You should also be introduced to your role card, the role list, the chat(and being able to look at specific players' messages), and every other UI element.
As Sheriff for example, you would be told to check a specific player, which would end up showing as suspicious. The game would then prompt you to tell the Town that you found said player as suspicious, which would trigger the other bots to start speaking. Then you'll be instructed to vote the player that came up suspicious.
For the Mafia tutorial, you'd be introduced to Godfather, Framer, and Consigliere. This is where you'll be introduced to fake claiming, and a fake claim will be preset in your will. You'll be introduced to the faction chat, killing as Godfather/Mafioso, framing as Framer, and checking people as a Consigliere.
There's many more possible ideas that could be put into making a tutorial but I just wanted to give some general concepts for what could be tutorials.
