We also are allowing anyone with 1 game played or more to be grandfathered in (aka you can still play for free). So you are able to play.

Question: Does the people banned/suspended previously have to pay again to play as you said when they were banned/suspended BEFORE the update happened?

for example if a person was banned a long time time ago and they were appealed like tomorrow will they be able to play again without paying or do they have to pay?

If they get unbanned via appeal they could play again as long as the account had 1 game played or some kind of real money purchase.

Is anybody else having problems with mobile right now? I tried to login since the patch and it tells me that there’s an upgrade and I need to upgrade mine version. If I go to the App Store there’s not an upgrade there that I can see. Not sure why I can’t connect with the mobile app.

That's a lot more than I expected! Wow.
One question though: If making a new account from now on costs $5 (the same as Web Premium), will anyone who makes a new account after PTP get the Web Premium perks off the gate, or will they have to spend another $5 to make their account Web Premium?

The server is down, so you need to wait until the maintenance ends before you can play again.

The way you become a verified account (that can play) is to buy Web Premium or Steam or Mobile Premium, so yes :)

You were banned for being a botter and a moonman, I doubt you're getting appealed any time soon.

Apple can take up to an hour or 2 to push out the new patch, which we submitted over an hour ago. Just keep an eye on it and sorry about that!

This is definitely a solution. As far as things go the game is still very cheap so it should be okay. I know I already suggested removing the browser version for a period so it's complete removal should garner immediate results. Removing the servers completely from being tied to this forum is also a good plan. I've had experiences with this forum design being very flawed and easily crack able.

I know a paywall is the reason throne of lies doesn't have this bot problem, and trust me they've made enough enemies within their own fanbase to also attract this kind of attention. So it's a tried and tested method.

I think with the game going pay to play though there may be issues. As I've already said Throne of lies has shown a steady decline since it's release and honestly, that game never had the biggest player base. mostly due to some very shoddy marketing decisions and balancing shenanigans that didn't even go through a proper testing phase. As such players have moved away from that game except for their dedicated fanbase. If Town of Salem wants to avoid these problems, I must impore that you undertake proper implementation measures for new content and the such.

It seems that developers are starting to understand that social deception games have very vocal and devious fanbases who can become very malicious and harmful to normal players. It's good to me that these types are starting to be denied. Hopefully they will return to their fortnite spam.

Agreed and thanks Magna. Were going to put in some "trial account" refer a friend codes to help keep the word of mouth virality going. I also believe that after a month or two of suspending/banning the last of the bot/alt accounts and downright toxic people that the community will become a lot more positive experience and more fun for everyone which hopefully results in more people inviting their friends. Were going to be working on some cool new updates over the coming months and keeping a close eye on things :)

Any account with at least 1 game played, or has made a purchase will be grandfathered in.

That's my point, I want to know if that's okay, or if there's a moral "We don't really want this, even if we can't really do anything about it"

I'm not worried about getting my alt in for free, I'm curious about the fact that it did get in for free.

Previously, banning people had almost 0 effect due to being a free to play game. Anyone using alts to break the rules will be banned moving forward and won't be able to play without paying. For those of us that have a secondary account, there is nothing wrong with that inherently as long as you follow the rules.

I imagine the thought behind it is that even if people do have alts that they use to break rules, once they're banned they're gone (or have to pay $5 to keep breaking rules).

So when are you going to fix this now?

Image

You've got 4 gmods where 1 is "retired" and one doesn't do trial and 2 people who do something like 2 reports a day and 5 judges who struggle to do 100 reports a day.

Rule breakers are still going to run rampant for a good long time before they're actually banned.

I don't think limiting the playerbase to paid users is worse than letting bots and rulebreakers run rampant on alts, tbh.
