Yes, but it's not supposed to be like this. At my elo level, most wins are +1 or similar, and with the new change, losses are a minimum of like -5 (for mafia) and go up to -14 for town. That means that I would need to have about a 80-90% winrate to stay at the same elo, which is absolutely ridiculous considering that the top ranked players have 60-70% winrates.

Also vampire rolls under NE now, not sure if that's a mistake, but I sure hope it is.

I agree with witty, the system you're putting into place now just won't work. It works in other games because a) it's mostly 50/50 who will win (by design, the sides are more balanced) and b) is more skill-based, whereas there's a HUGE element of luck in ToS, including the faction you get and the role.

@Witty That is because of queue times and the amount of players playing ranked. If you were playing people near your Elo this wouldn't happen.

Can I just say that I lost -12 as a survivor and -6 as a jester in both games that the town completely annihilated the mafia? Yes, I love ranked, but I've worked hard for my elo. I don't understand why any neutral role should lose more than -1/-2. You're literally by yourself. Yes, I have more games than the average ranked player, but that also makes me a target?

1. Elo is totally messed up since the new patch

2. Get the Coven roles out of Invest results in ranked because there's no point them being there.


3. I still don't see the point in lowering everybody's elos. Could you explain please.

The problem is that there's not enough high elo people for high elo players to go up in elo unless you coordinate queues with other high elos. As it is, the highest elo players (like Taz and Borden) who are 4000 elo are quitting the game because even if they play with all the highest elo players in the game, they will always be the highest elo person in the lobby and thus get +1/-14 for every game. Is it slightly better if you queue with other high elos, yes, but the issue still continues on a lesser scale. When you get someone who's higher elo than most other players, they are going to lose a ton of elo for every loss no matter who they play with, and get +1 (or even +0 due to a new bug) for every win, which forces someone like Taz to get a 90% winrate to go up in elo even if he plays with all of the top players. That isn't how the system should be working, and I foresee a lot of high elos quitting (I've already heard from 3 that are planning on quitting because of this).

This elo-system works in games where the playerbase is bigger and there's enough players to fill "high elo games". There's a window of 1-2 hrs per day when you can get a game with 10+ players above 2.2k. This elo-system does not work in a game where you 22 hours out of each day get matched with players who are 2000 elo below you.
This isn't a big issue for me, I'm still low in the semi-high elo-span. But I recognize the issues the players above 2.6-3k elo are having, it's not fair at all. You can't rip off an elo-system from any game, implement it and think it will work. Especially not in Town of Salem.

There's SO MANY players who are getting 0 elo when they win as NE, Town and Mafia. How is that a fair system? Shouldn't every win be rewarded?

I need to relearn how to play TOS now before queueing GREAT. I'll queue some CASUALS if anyone wants to play with a champion. I'll be queueing anytime between 1 AM to 1:01 AM PST and EST.

On another note: Will there be any more TOS changes after this? Like updates? And I mean soon updates not 6 months from now. As in bug fixes. And there's this skin "Necromancer" that's freaking me out. It's literally something I'd like to pay money to not see on my front page. There an option for that?

Ok now time to go figure out what this even is and prob not in ranked since I don't feel like being 1200 elo like the rest of the people in ranked. I'm going to be casual main now. You can find in me tha caz's under the name "Razgbaey".

Do you realize how hard that is nowadays? I regularly queue up with 1300 ELO players, even when I sync queues with the discord. Ranked has been on a steady decline since the beginning of this year, and it's nearly impossible to get into a queue with 14 competent players as it is. Most of the other top 10 ELO players have quit, and all this new formula is going to do is drive even more veteran players away.
i go by sonder and i have 600 elo

if you ever see me around im generally pretty friendly :)

Since the Amnesiac change went live today, can anybody clarify what happens when two Amnesiacs try to remember the same unique role on the same night? Which one gets priority?
Since only one of each unique can be alive at a time, what happens in a situation as follows:
    N1: Mayor dies, N2: Amnesiac remembers Mayor, N3: Retributionist revives Mayor?
Don't worry about the nights just for an example given that I imagine if they were to be revived and an Amnesiac tried to remember on the same night it would just disallow the Amnesiac... and this has the opportunity of giving many lives to any important town roles which no other faction has, since Amnesiac can remember Retributionist again and again to revive Mayor, Jailor, or other useful roles?
Do Amnesiacs get the revive ability even after the inital Retributionist has revived someone? Is there a limit to how many Amnesiacs can remember each unique role per game?

So many questions...

Amnesiac can't remember unique town roles, still not certain how it would work with two trying to remember WW or GF/mafioso though.

Ret question: Ret wouldn't be allowed. If they both try on the same night Ret takes priority.

Amne question 2: They can only remember unique evil roles, not Town.

Okay, is the only evil roles new? I saw a few days ago on the PTR someone remember mayor so I seem to have missed the evils part.

Is that the only ELO thing you're looking into? Because honestly, I don't understand why anyone over 2.6k would want to play ranked if you're just going to give us the maximum elo loss? Shouldn't you be encouraging your veteran players to play more?
