So if i'm undersanding this correctly they need to buy something ingame? or do they have to buy points with real money in order to get something?

because i've reffered 3before the patch and they've all won 30+games yet i have no RAF rewards :s

People have to place your username into their referral box when they sign-up. If they don't, you can't refer them.

Correct. If they are or were referred after the Patch, they'll have to purchase something in-game with actual money.
If it was before, and they referred you when they registered, and won 10 games, then they should count towards your total. If they don't, they did something wrong somewhere.

If you want to refer someone, you'd put their name in the referral box when you registered. To have someone refer you, they have to put your username in that box.

I was all for the R-A-F system and working for some interesting rewards until you made it a requirement that friends spend money on the game. Why would anyone spend money on it when the browser version is free and you can unlock things with coins? There's no way I'd try to make friends spend money on a game I never spent money on myself just so I get some free stuff.

But they are locking some really cool stuff behind as referer only rewards like the reaper skin and that angers me. Again I am HAPPY to do my part and invite people to play. A couple of which MIGHT buy something at SOME point. But I don't have a lot of friends I'm close enough to to get them to put my name down as a referer. At least not if you exclude those that don't play games.

Plus doing it this way just creates the feeling of "If you don't buy anything you don't count as a real player". I know this was to try to exclude fake account but I feel they could have done this some other way that doesn't require us to find paying customers for them just to get even one person on the refer list. See that is the other thing even if you do find someone that is only one person.

You have to realize it was done this way to prevent people from abusing the system by making multiple accounts and getting it, which I'm sure almost everyone here in this thread would be too afraid to admit if this wasn't in place, they'd abuse it just to get the items. You can sit there and say 'no' all you want, but I know many people on this forum, even frequent users, who would abuse it, whether they admit it or not.

Honestly though, YouTubers are still going to be the only ones who have referred friends who will spend money on the game. Most of my friends, and probably most friends in general, aren't going to just buy a game on steam instantly if they can just play through the browser for free. I understand that you give them aesthetic rewards for purchasing Town Points and Steam, but that's really not the point of the Refer a Friend system. The point is to refer a friend to the game in order to increase your number of players because the more number of players, the more ad revenue from the login screen and the more likely they will, at a later time, purchase Town Points or the Steam version.

If your only concern with making accounts with 10 games get credit is the fact that fake accounts can be used and a bot can be used, increase the game number to 50 like it is in ranked. It gives people incentive to keep playing and it increases the value of the account, making people less likely to break the rules in the future.

Also, aren't bots against your Terms of Service? I vaguely remember that they are. Also I haven't seen a single Town of Salem bot on the web and only a very, very, very select few people would have the skill, time, and effort to put into making a bot just to cheat your system. It just doesn't seem worth it to require an in-app purchase.

Increasing the count to 50 instead of 10 just makes the potential for AFKing or bots worse. That doesn't solve the problem. Also you don't have to make a bot to AFK through games.

3 days ago I banned 15 accounts that had 1500+ games played. Someone made a bot that would create parties and play with 14 other accounts to farm town points. It was never reported because they were in their own games. So yes, there are bots and if you give people more incentive to bot there will be even more.

It doesn't, but it increases the likelihood that you'll refer 5 people who will spend money and therefore increases the likelihood of you getting the rewards.

I would assume so, however I'm not 100% sure. Since they're counting Steam, I would think they would count the PS version, however, since you're getting it for free, I don't think it'll work. We'll have to wait and see when we get to the point of the PS release.

Previous friends will count. After the patch new referrals must buy something.

The people who you referred must either also use steam or buy something from the shop with money to count as referred friends.

Ok so that's bullshit the only way to a count a refer is for them to buy items.......I invited friends but I guess it won't count since they didn't pay I hate games like this only wanting people to buy stuff to get benefits GG.
