They should just do it. If they put a poll and link it to the game, it'll be like last time. If they don't like it, we'll probably see exactly what everyone's been saying; actually fix Witch.

No. The results of the Arsonist poll were awful. We need to spend more time coming up with alternatives (and, in particular, any proposed poll should have a period where they're asking for alternatives) rather than just slapping the first half-assed idea people come up with onto a poll like they did with the arsonist.

The problem is that most players only think in terms of very broad-strokes "am I happy?" terms. They don't think about the larger metagame or about how a particular change will play out in terms of eg. how the roles will interact and how games will go down. So you end up with completely idiotic suggestions like silent douses or douse-framing getting votes purely because they were presented as the only option for a basically unrelated issue (players pissed at losing so often as Arsonist) that could have been solved in many much-better ways. The arsonist poll ways an absolute trainwreck - the devs even sort-of acknowledged this when they suddenly got cold feet and said that they wanted to go more slowly despite the results.

We've already severely damaged the game with one poll like that, let's not do it again. Think first, then run the poll once you have a good range of options.

This. Literally out of the past 20 games I've played, no one has used taunts. This was across multiple game modes, including Ranked.

I don't use taunts, unless i'm about to die and i'm arsonist and there's 50 maf with machine guns pointing at my head, after being saved by an amnesiac who remembers hes a veteran and shoots me to death with his army-grade rifle.

Maybe there could be a system where you could report someone's lobby icon.

There would probably need to be some sort of temporary history then, because someone could change it to something non-offensive. Oh, and maybe some way to save them permanently but extra slots could cost less TP than the original purchase.

Personally I hate this because I want people to refer me to my chosen name, not some stupid number. However, as much as I hate it, it is a good idea that really should be implemented and other than slight annoyance from me, it would be nice to remove confusion.
