Name: Disruptor

Alignment: Neutral Evil

Abilities: Choose two people at night to temporarily switch their abilities

Attributes:

- Ability only works on people with night abilities

- Cannot use the ability on your self

Special Attributes:

- Immune to role blocks and being witched

- Witches and Transporters are immune to the disruptor

Goal: Live to see the town lose

Win Conditions: Wins with everyone except town

Investigative Results:

Investigator - Your target keeps to themselves. They could be a survivor, witch, disruptor or vampire hunter.
Sheriff - Your target is not suspicious
Consigliere - Your target switches peoples abilities. They must be a disruptor

Additional Information:

- If a target is visited by the disruptor the prompt says 'You're night has been disrupted.'

- Only the night abilities are switched. So for example if a lookout and an escort were swapped. The lookout would rb their target and the escort would watch the target they were visiting.

- If a BG or a Vig is successfully switched with another target of the disruptor, the switched target suffers the consequences. However the vig will still also lose a bullet as it has been used.

I've tried to balance it out so its not too OP and it equally messes with both the town and other roles (a bit like the witch) but in a unique way.

Ehhhh... Idk. Would be way easy if gf swapped with doc or something the gf-turned-doc would say 'I am doc I was body-swapped with [name] and they are godfather'

Swapping roles, if their role-card is swapped as well as their goals, are frowned upon, as if a mafia member will be swapped with a town, then they will cheat out the rest of the mafia. However, if they aren't aware that their night action was swapped, and it only lasting 1 night, then this may be a good role, as they wouldn't know about their actions being switched, and they wont have a different goal, therefore no reason to cheat out the mafia.

You are not supposed to make roles that change other people's roles. This role idea has been suggested a lot. Also, it should be Neutral Evil, because Neutral Chaos roles have Neutral Killing win conditions.

Oh I probably worded it wrong, sorry. Its like the transporter in a way, it only lasts one night. The roles aren't swapped, just the night ability is if that makes sense. It camt happen every night and they dont know who they are swapped with.

I might change the name, its confusing. And maybe not having a notification show up might be better, thanks for the feedback

Ok I'll try and word the scenario a bit better.

Player A is the swapper

Player X is the lookout

Player Y is the Investigator

Player Z is the Serial Killer

Player B is the lookouts target

Player A swaps Player Y and Player Z. Player Y wants to Investigate player B and the serial killer aims for someone else. The lookout has also decided to visit player B that night.

Since a swap has happened (temporarily) Player Ys target has been killed and the serial killers target is perfectly alive. The lookout has seen Y visit the dead and hence Y seems like the serial killer however only the night ability was swapped, not the actual role if you get what I mean?

What would happen if they didn't have a night action. E. G. Jailor without a prisoner

If the jailor doesn't have a prisoner the jailor doesn't have the option to click anyone. Therefore meaning the jailor doesn't have a night ability.

They wint get switched

If the disruptor targets 2 people and one of them doesn't have a night ability they aren't switched.

Its similar to the witch and transporter, they cant do their ability if one of them is jailed.

It is not enough OP to be unique I think.
My reasons: Ability only works on people with night abilities (+who chosed to use night action)
(It is most likely a hybrid of trans and witch, but different from both of them) just do as with the trans or the witch->if two target the same people who first chosed have the control. There can be multiple witch/trans in the games too.
This role is not capable on solo-win. (like witch)

I dont like the invest result. all of the roles are easily confirmable in that group and rb immunes

the WW is an OP role, thats why he can use his ability only once per 2 day. But this role... yeah, a clever person can make big chaos with this role, but for that the witch is capable too. BUT unlike witch, this role most likely wont know wich roles was targeted. (witch target a killing role to someone, he can assume he targetted the killing role, but if this target a killing and an investigative, he would not know if he targeted a killing role (a clever town would not say he was disrupted when he see that he attacked someone instead of investigating, (only if neccesery) because that way he helped an evil to find mafia))-> no need for the only once per two night cap.

and questions: if someone (a visiting role) shoot a town with a vigi ability, who will die next night?
TI get the Bodyguard ability and investigate someone, who gets attacked, who will die?

Ok the person the role was switched to gets the repurcussions. So if a vig and an invest swapped and the invest was going to the town, they'd be the one killing themselves, same with the BG.

If an invest and bg switched and a killing role visited the invests target the invest would die

Ok yeh this role is a good idea but what happens if you swap a Survivor who is vesting themselves that night and a Mafioso who is killing someone that night? Does the Survivor die and the Mafioso vest their target?

The survivor kills himself and the mafia will vest the target yeah, since everything I switched which is what the rol is supposed to ve about. Its supposed to fuck with investigators, like lookout and spy.

So the spy sees the mafia visit the target (who they have vested) but there has already been a mafia kill. It puts pressure on the spy and with the recent blackmailer buff, could make them seem like a bad blackmailer

Also this role isn't too OP with Mafia as Spy can see who Mafia visited and if the Mafia kill someone who they didn't visit the Spy would know

Yeah so with a spy and if the disruptor finds a mafia, it can be easily confirmed that there is a disruptor. I'm glad this can work, its only the second I've come up with and I've used everyone's suggestions for edits

With this disanvantage I feel he earned the right to make moves every night. (He has two counters: lookout (that is a counter for almost everything) and spy who can confirm his existence)

Also if Survivor swaps with another role that visits people (let's say Investigator) then whoever the Investigator visits will get a notification saying "Your bulletproof vest saved you from death" if they are attacked which confirms the existence of a Disruptor
